That would make Y2001 a happy camper since he's a big draft guy. |

To add stability & experience so that a very young and poorly experienced team can learn how to be a 40 win team next year. _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

Bosh is out, so that's that in South Beach. Without Bosh and Wade, Miami is lotto bound. Don't buy what "Tas Melas" or Jared or any of "The Starters" said about Miami making the playoffs.
Orlando tanked hard last year, and got little back for Tobias. Losing Oladipo for a player at a position where they have depth will keep them from playoff contention.
Remember, the Knicks, Bulls, and Bucks all missed playoffs last year, each have a better chance than the FL teams. |

Remember that RPM will have Byron's fingerprints on it due to his effect on player efficiency last season. There is no accounting for the coaching change. |

Big deal about RPM here! Excellent point.
It's kind of funny to me that it's finally sinking in with everyone that, as a rebuilding team, they're not going to turn it around overnight, and they'll be hard to watch at times. Buckle up! Welcome to THE PROCESS
Also Philly is not going to finish with a better record than LAL with their current injuries. Hard to say with Nets, their roster is suspect but if Lopez & Lin are healthy, that could be a good tandem with a great coach in Atkinson. |

Well, you can always DVR the games and watch them backwards, that way the Lakers will have 82 "ties" this season.
On another note: Is there a monster center in college this year that is a top 3 pick? _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

Again, my opinion is both Orlando and Miami will be chasing a playoff spot. In response to the comment about Oladipo, who I like, he was no longer a starter in Orlando, they chose Fournier as their SG of the future. |

Lakers were 2 and 6 in preseason. That percentage translates to a 20-win season.
To be honest, I'd rather them win 24 games and get the first pick then win 30 games and miss a pick altogether. |

Eh. I think 24.3 wins is the floor for these young Lakers. If things progress slowly, then around 25 wins is what I'm guessing. But, I believe our young guns will play better than the preseason indicated. A ceiling of around 35 wins sounds nice, for a rebuilding team. Not sure where that ranks us.

I guess you didn't read Larry Nances quote. Lakers won't win 24 games to tank or be bad enough for 30 wins unless injuries happens, seriously I can't tell if you guys are really Laker fans or just have a sky is falling attitude. |

We'll probably finish with the third worst record and draft Josh Jackson.
Watching Russell and Ingram develop should make the tank more enjoyable this year though. |

No, the best C prospects in 2017 look like raw lunchpail bigs. The 2018 class looks to have truly elite big men lead by DeAndre Ayton. |

At the end of the day, does it really matter if we got 24 wins vs. 29 wins? I mean if we're sitting at 20 wins with only a couple weeks to go, then yeah go ahead and tank. At this point it's just about improving. |

They tend to give us more wins than we actually get by the end don't they? |

I'm fairly certain that if we hit 24 wins, we won't be at the bottom. Going back 6 years, the worst we'd be is 3rd to last.

I see team tank is making some noise in this thread.
Once college bball starts, maybe I'll get a little more excited about the draft class and join the brigade.
Gotta see if Dennis Smith Jr can stay healthy and Josh Jackson can space the floor before I get ahead of myself. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

I believe ESPN predicted the Lakers with more wins than the resulting outcome the past 2 seasons....... |

Russell's due for a breakout season anyways.
Factor in Ingram being underrated (his defense will be better than what ESPN's conservative projection sees him being) and probably Mozgov having a return to form... and yeah I don't see RPM as a good model here.
Flip side is, it's a good reminder that we're going to be bad. Probably sub-30 wins bad. Almost certainly sub-35 wins bad. |

Yeah, but don't forget about
ESPN understated how bad Byron is as coach:
