Hey all,

Los Angeles Lakers Have Nowhere to Go but Up in Western Conference

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2671869-los-angeles-lakers-have-nowhere-to-go-but-up-in-western-conference

The Lakers have the chance to catch a few teams in the West, but not many.

Also, Gary Payton on his time w/Lakers - if Malone hadn't have gotten hurt, the team would have chased the 72-10 record.

Luke Walton on the value of MWP, T-Rob earn spot by being himself, Yi out

Cheers,

Eric

IMO we are in the same tier as:

Sacramento
New Orleans
Denver
Phoenix
Dallas

we can surpass a few teams if the team clicks on all cylinders.

This road trip will say a lot. If they return with a winning record, than they may be better than we thought. If they lose the next 4, reality will have sat.

Thanks for the article and the 45+ minute podcast

IMHO - their commitment to sticking to Luke's system will be a strategic factor.

If DLO is their most talented player (albeit a very talented one), Lakers need to find/develop a STUD. Maybe Brandon Ingram will be our next "Tim Duncan" superstar that could be remembered a the reincarnation of Mr. Fundamental

Will Randle develop into a Drammond Green? (Only if he greatly improves his outside shot and D). Maybe his career may be more akin to The Mailman. Hopefully, he will incorporate various aspects of the career of Sir Charles

Will JC have a career like Joe Dumar, or will it be more like Chauncey Billips. Both had very good careers but are not superstars

If one of the young players has a breakout year, could they have a chance to have a magical season like what the Trailblazers had last year with Lillard being the catalyst of their rise
