To get any of these players we'd have to give up one of DLO/Ingram. No thanks. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

No way. We just need seasoning. Think how good we will be after 40 games. |

too soon. I'd expect the lakers to keep this core more or less until the end of 2017-18. At that point if they punt their cap space next year and with Lou,Swaggy and Nick young expiring they should have $35 mil in cap space which will be enough to extend Randle and get a max player. Depending on how much Randle commands you may have to stretch Mosgov or Deng at that point, but Deng looks done to me anyway.
At that point
Cousins and Harden are unrestricted FA's and Paul George has an early termination option.
DLO
Ingram
George
Randle
Mosgov (or Zubac by then?)
Clarkson - 6th
looks like a very solid team in 3 years that can make a 2nd round playoff push. If DLO or Ingram reach allstar level...maybe further, if they reach superstar level, maybe the whole thing. |

I think we have enough players who like the ball in their hands. Don't really want cousins ruining the chemistry with his temperamental moodiness nor lma who is on the wrong side of 30.
Our squad looks pretty decent so far just need to work on our defense. But we've got depth for days. True collective team effort. Ingram gonna be good. Can't wait. |

I think it's way too early to tell what the one thing this team needs is. It was one game. Just about everyone played well and contributed and they got a close win at home over a team that has very little defensive presence and is projected to be a fringe playoff team at best. |

I disagree he is the best Center. I would take Anthony Davis and Karl Anthony Towns over Cousins from both talent and neither are near the attitude problem that Cousins can be. I am not trying to diminish Cousin's talents, but just disagreeing that he is the best in the league. |

I think this core is a solid defensive SG that shoots lights out from being great in a couple years. Klay is the prototype. I like Buddy Hield(defense is suspect though). JC is perfect off the bench as we saw last night. As for the anchor down low, I would be happy with a Nerlens Noel type. Someone to run, block shots and clean the glass. Hustle pts and energy. We have enough offense going forward if we get a deadly shooter imo _________________ You mystified at what exists inside

Go After Anthony Davis. He makes us instant contenders for forever and fits into our team. |

What concerns me with this is that i think if we overachieve it will be because we dont have an "alpha", they are sharing the ball and trusting each other to make the right play. If we were to add a demarcus cousins how could we integrate him without losing that? Would a star player buy into this concept when playing with a team full of youngins, its easier if your durant going to gsw and being told to share the ball with curry, klay, green, iggy... |

Cousins is a head case and would poison this young's team chemistry, Aldridge has had his best days. Leave things as they are and see how they develop, then as you move up add pieces. |

Karl Anthony Towns would be a great fit for this team. Too bad that's not gonna happen anytime soon. |

Durant took 18 shots in the Warriors opening game, so it's not like they don't know who the stars of the team are.
Anyway, if you get a star, he'll expect to be the star of the team. But it's all a pointless theoretical discussion at this point. We aren't going to sign a star imminently. And by the time we're ready for that, our conceptions of some of the players on this team might change 180 degrees, pro and con.
For all we know, three weeks from now the idea that we were afraid to disrupt the younguns by getting a star might seem ridiculous. |

Yay, we're to the part where people start pining for that old fashioned post man that all, oops, none of the contenders are building around. _________________ “We must always take sides. Hopefully Ingram can be a reasonable facsimile of the guy but I think Durant would have been absolutely perfect. |

AD or Towns in the future would be great. Not interested in Boogie. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Boogie is the most feasible he will be sick of Sacramento. They are like the clippers over there in NorCal at this point
Davis won't come here because Chris Paul will go back to NO to play with Davis when he is a free agent after this season
BG will go to OKC to play with Russell Westbrook when he is a free agent |
