Old LG joke. |
Oh ok. |
Some guy mad a thread that read "not the best talent, but the best overall team" or something like that. |
yeah it was a knee jerk reaction to an opening night victory over the Clippers in 2013-2014 season. |

I thought same thing when I read the title.
But to the OP, it is way too early to tell if it's the best. I do think it is in the upper half of the league, though. After the way it played in the preseason and the opener, I think that is fair for right now. |

The bench was great against the Rockets but I don't except Clarkson and Ingram to stay there very long. |

With Ingram assuming so much ball handling responsibility, I think it's only a matter of time before Huertas is cut out of the primary rotation. Ingram/Nance are possibly the best defensive forward duo of any 2nd unit in the NBA. Clarkson and Lou are possibly the best scoring duo of any 2nd unit as well. Lou has won 6th man of the year before, so he's obviously one of the best bench players in the NBA. Clarkson is arguably a better player than Lou, so he also is one of the best bench players in the NBA.
Do we have the best bench in the league? |
We just won a big scoring game at home against a terrible defensive team. None of the starters played 30 minutes, so there were lots of minutes and stats for the bench guys.
How this will play out over time is anyone's guess.
Clarkson is a very solid sixth man and could be in the running for sixth man of the year. Ingram is good, but I expect some typical rookie up and downs. I'm not sure that anyone here would be all that impressed with the other guys if they wore different jerseys.
I could see the bench panning out anywhere from good to solid to bad.
I'd say the Warriors have the best bench. Toronto and Cleveland look pretty good. |

We will need to win 40-47 games for jc to win 6th man. Doable imo |

I would argue that the bench unit is better than the starting unit. |

Best bench, overall, in the league?
I would say yes, until the next lost. Then it's the worst bench, trade Clarkson, trade Randal, trade Lou, etc. This thread is the result of LG euphoria. |

Lou is a recent 6MOY winner and is still in his prime. Clarkson is arguably a better player than Lou, so we have two of the best bench players in the NBA. I think Nance is a starting caliber PF and one of the best defensive big men in he NBA. There's a ton of talent. |

We have a very good bench that must keep us with most second units, our problem is that our starting unit is not better than our bench. |

Quote: | Serena Winters: The Lakers bench is averaging 50.6 points per game, the best mark in the NBA. That’s 5+ points more than any other bench in the league. |
as I expcted, Luke has cut the backup PGs out of the rotation, and it's starting to look like we actually do have the best bench in the league. |

Ingram has frankly been astonishing. He's a total disrupter out there with his long arms. |

Our bench is a huge headache for other teams to deal with when you consider the following:
- 3 initiators in Lou, JC and Ingram
- 2 guys capable of dropping 20 on you off the bench in Lou and JC
- 2 long, athletic defenders who cover lots of ground in Nance and Ingram
- 2 active, athletic bigs who are constantly moving in Nance and Black
- Great team speed overall at all 5 positions
That's a tough unit to deal with in terms of unpredictability in running sets (3 initiators), disruptive D and explosive scoring. To think, Ingram hasn't even found his offense yet. |

It's a nice thought but I doubt he will. How he is now is pretty much how he will be _________________ Kobe |
