Considering they missed like 25 open 3s vs the Lakers, and Curry/Klay have been awful to start the year it's safe to say they are not worse than last year. THey are just missing shots. Curry and Klay are missing wide open spot up 3s..last year Curry was making contested 29 footers..funny how things change.

You don't think they are worse than a 73 win team? I think it's safe to say they are clearly worse than that.

Regular season wins don't decide if you are worse or better.

But it takes an extraordinary team to win 73 games after they just won 67 games and a championship. I don't see how this Golden State team is there yet. They need to play the defense they were playing the last couple of years.

They had a significant roster turnover alright, and they haven't found:

- the replacement for big bodied Bogut
- how to share the ball among the main scorers as well as last year
- out just how well Kevon Looney and JM McAdoo might replace Ezeli and Speights
- a way to integrate Durant into the old defense.

Ya, just seeing him on their sideline. Not right. Why Kerr? Why??

Replacing Luke Walton with Mike Brown is like replacing prime Kobe with Nick Young.

Kerr has lost his mind, can't believe he says "it'll be a good fit."

If Damian Jones never hurt his pec, it may be a different story right now.

But right now he's on pace to be cleared by December to start playing again and he was a brilliant get by the Warriors should he remain healthy and after the rust is off.

Damian's upside is that of a smarter Deandre Jordan, so he could be VITAL in the Warriors going forward with their lack of size.

As far as the bench goes. They've lost Barbosa, but have replaced him essentially with Clark and McCaw who looks like he could be the real deal.

They kept Livingston, they kept Iggy, whom were the most important factors to their bench last year. They lost Speights but gained David West which is an upgrade, and they lost Ezeli for JaVale McGee but also gained Kevon Looney to play.

So all and all the Warriors didn't lose SUCH BIG DEPTH the most they are missing right now is the rim protection of Bogut, and even then, Bogut rarely finished games as that small ball lineup was the one blowing other teams out.

Anyway, the Warriors are getting more wide open shots than last year, they just haven't been knocking them down, and when that happens their lack of rim protection and size inside catches up to them.

When the shot's are falling like they were last year, they're unstoppable essentially.

But to me, one of the KEYS for this Warriors team aside from Kevon Looney's health, is Damian Jones being activated and being healthy and catching up to NBA speed.

Because he is precisely what the Warriors need at their center position, and if their core stays together, by the time he FULLY develops, they'll be even bigger of a problem.

Now I called Damian Jones upside a smarter Deandre Jordan, but I know people love the numbers and such and the measurements. Well here you go

Damian Jones
Height 6'11.5 Wingspan 7'3.75 Reach 8'11 No Step: 36" Max: 37"

Deandre Jordan
Height 6'11 Wingspan 7'6 Reach 9'5 No Step: 26" Max: 30.5"

And here's a little of what he could do:

He's also only 21 despite being a 3 year college student and won't be 22 till June of next year. So he potentially could be more ready to step in once he gets up to NBA speed which may take a while given no pre-season and he won't be activated till December.

But he could be an X Factor in the future for that team if he winds up as good as I think he has the potential to be. Wished he'd fallen to the Lakers but I'm glad we got Zubac ^_^

Mike Brown's a proven great assistant and Popovich is the one whom recommended him. And he'd know better than anyone else.

It's 'cool' to hate on Mike Brown, but as an assistant the guy is legit. Ask anyone that worked with him on San Antonio or Indiana. His problem was the execution of those theories and not micromanaging as he did as an assistant as a head coach. Which he doesn't have to worry about now.

they should probably trade Klay for a defensive big/perimeter defender, so that LBJ doesn't blitz them again. Even in the year GSW beat the Cavs, whenever Lebron wants to, he can have a dominant game.

Klay has always been an overrated defender. He's a good team player, but the warriors need a big or some perimeter defenders so that Lebron doesn't go off on them again.

and you won't miss Klay's streaky shooting either. draymond can easily pick up the slack if Klay is gone.

Counting on a rookie big to play well could prove disappointing. That said, all he needs to do is rebound, challenge shots, and catch and finish inside. McGee is getting some time now, and he alters the game compared with Zaza. If Jones can position himself defensively more consistently than McGee, he could surpass him and contribute this year. Also, he showed the lateral agility in college to stay with smaller players coming off screens. That gives him some exciting defensive potential. The W's wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to draft him, I suspect, had he not been hurt. Waiting for Looney to heal looks like it will pay off, as he appears to have some NBA skills and a feel for the game. Waiting for Jones may pay off, as well. It will be interesting to see whether it pays off this season.

The angst over the W's bench is overdone, I think. They keep 2 all-stars on the court at all times. They just need some explosive size against certain teams. They need McGee or Jones to provide that.

The team is on a roll now. Their best players are too good to let this team struggle much during the season.
