Now it becomes something less like an amusement park and something more like a game preserve with sentient game. Real stakes, etc, exactly the kind of themepark William wanted all along. But of course, I doubt the hosts want that for themselves, but it remains to be seen how they could possibly escape the confines of Westworld. |

jeez.
The MiB is looking for Dolores a.k.a. Wyatt the whole time but didn't they meet each other in Episode 1? That's when Teddy shot at MiB and nothing happened.
Does that mean it was from a different timeline? Also, MiB picked up Dolores' can when she dropped it, right? The different timelines is what complicates things for me. |
Is there something that makes this definitive or is it speculation at this point? I must have missed it if it's the former. |
nah. I don't think there is 100% confirmation yet. But I think some theories point that it was Dolores who actually murdered that town full of hosts. And that she was able to turn Teddy to join her. Hopefully this will be settled in the finale. |
what a very satisfying season finale! |

The only thing I am not quite sure of yet is what's actually going on with the Maeve storyline? What did Ford plan for Maeve? |

I think season 1 is effectively just a backdrop story line. The REAL arc of the show is probably going to happen the rest of the way. _________________ KOBE |

Yeah, I was wondering whether he was really dead...and now that you mention the other host he was creating separately that seems like a definite possibility as everyone else was playing checkers while he was playing chess the whole time anyway. |

34-36 years ago --> Dolores and Arnold have interviews, robots learn to dance, town massacre. Arnold dies.
30 years ago --> Dolores and William go on a journey together, some kind of critical failure happens that changes how the park is run.
1 year ago --> William returns after wife's death, witnesses Maeve acting human, dedicates himself to solving the maze (something he initially heard about 29 years prior with Dolores but, for an as of yet unknown reason, set aside).
Present --> William's search intensifies, reveries activate, hosts seem to be gaining some form of sentience, Dolores relives the past in search of clues left by Arnold, Ford's new narrative is executed... |
I am curious which point in the timeline the Man In Black decides to turn evil (when he killed Maeve+daughter). |
Well William did massacre the entire Union army upon realizing Dolores wasn't real and Logan snapped him out of it. Doesn't that count? |
yeah. at the end of episode 8, the Man in Black told Teddy that he killed Maeve to try playing the evil guy. And Maeve recalls that moment perfectly in previous episodes.
I am wondering when that incident happened. Was it during episode 1's time when the Man in Black dragged Dolores by the hair to the barn? Because at that point, I think Maeve was already at the Mariposa. And remember, Maeve was only transferred to the Mariposa for less than a year?
These little details make it hard for my puny brain to put things together. hahaha |
Maeve was moved to the mariposa after being wiped after what William did to her, about a year prior. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

I had heard that Hopkins was not signed on for multiple years, so we shall see. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

After re-watching episode 10, I think I finally know what Maeve's narrative was about.
But someone correct me if I'm wrong:
Ford might have tinkered with Maeve's narrative in order to cause a distraction. The new script specifically stated that Maeve should- Deceive, Coerce, Recruit, Escape, Manipulate and then "MAINLAND INFILTRATION".
With all of those put into motion, Maeve's attempt to escape called the attention of the Delos security. All of their security focused on the 3 Hosts trying to escape.
The commotion distracted the Delos security from Ford's plot to awaken all the hosts in the storage for his final Narrative - a chaotic Westworld with real-life stakes just as William wanted.
I guess Maeve achieved full consciousness when she stepped out of the train going into the Mainland to look for her daughter because that was not written in her script. |

Finally got around to watching the finale. Wow. Just wow. Great episode, answered many questions yet left us asking for more. It looks like next season is gonna be pure chaos.
William is gonna be like Rambo next season.
Is the Hemsworth security dude dead? They showed him attacked by Indians, but they never said he died.
I'm still not sure what was going on in the Maeve subplot, but oh well. I found it strange that all the security guards were asking the robots to "drop it" and then got killed. I wonder if they were robots too? That asian doctor guy seems to wimpy to be real...I dunno. Oh, if anyone missed it, there is a short scene after the credits that shows the blonde snake tattoo chick fighting more security.
Lots of stuff going on and I can't wait to see season 2. Samurai world, brehs. Maybe...a park filled with dinosaurs |
