I'm glad guys like Steve Kerr and Phil Jackson keep / kept guys on the floor in historical games, even with effectively insurmountable leads. This game was over in the second quarter; anyone could see that. But it was great to see Klay get incandescent tonight ... (bleep)!
Not unlike Phil with Kobe in the 81 point game. I think 20 or 21 of those points came in the final 6 1/2 minutes with a comfortable double digit lead the entire time. The outcome wasn't in doubt, but the history of the moment wasn't lost on Phil (or Kobe).
60 points in 29 minutes ... have we seen that before? Wilt, I guess? |

Closest I can recall is Kobe putting 62 on the Mavs in 33 minutes.
They just put up 142 points in regulation. That makes the 1980s Doug Moe Denver Nuggets' teams look like they were playing in quicksand. _________________ KOBE |

Dwight throttled Whiteside tonight like it was his job, while LeBron (who has a history of struggling at times against Carmelo) took it to his hermano in the Big Apple ... actually, LeBron may have coaxed a bit more from his team tonight to make sure Phil heard the message loud and clear that he's gonna get "Klay Thompson" treatment for the foreseeable future ... I guess they can start preparing the bomb shelter in Penn Station because Winter just came, and I don't think it's leaving anytime soon.
Phil's incapable of saying "Hey, I (bleep) up discussing players on other teams ... mea culpa" and LeBron's incapable of letting it slide. Thus, the Knicks are (bleep) ... |

Some people really thought the Clippers could make the Finals. Just ridiculous. They're the same damn team as always!!! Who did they add? lol. Very marginal improvements of your flaws is not going to beat the Warriors. Glad their true colors were shown again, can't believe people still fall for calling them contenders every year. |

Other than that series win against the Spurs, it seems every time games get mucky or tight, the Clippers get all wound up. Maybe it's me reading too deep into body language but that team looks like they're a few bad losses away from taking swings at each other. _________________ KOBE |

Actually I think it's really obvious the Clippers are better. The defense and bench are way better. They destroyed the Spurs and Cavs on the road. But that's not enough to overcome the Warriors adding Durant and possibly being the greatest offense ever.
I still do question the Clippers mental toughness though.
I think putting the Clippers down too much after that doesn't give the Warriors enough credit. The Warriors are just better than everybody right now. |

Marc Gasol, Tony Allen, and some D League caliber talent keeps on winning for the Grizzlies.
Maybe Lebron's nerd David Fizdale can actually coach? |

They got hot for a 15 game stretch, it happens. The last 5 their defense has come back down to earth.. Sure they're a bit improved, maybe even more than that - but it's nowhere close to enough to beat the Warriors! I really can't understand everyone saying they could legit beat them in a series. |

WB's current streak, reminds me of one of the many epic scoring bursts we saw from Kobe. Must watch TV. |

They still lost but it was a super fun, close game and the Pels are starting to look like a real team again. Seems Alvin will not be the first coach put out on the street this season... |

I thought Philly stopped tanking after their GM quit last year? It looks like they are still following "the process". |

Well, Simmons hasn't played a single minute for them and the majority of their talent is at PF/C. It's hard to win games with guards as bad as Philly has.
But they did sign two veteran guards to try and somewhat address the issue - Bayless has been injured and Henderson is just a roleplayer - which Hinkie never would have done. So the official tank may be over in Philly, but it's going to take them a couple years to build a more rational roster. |

Cousins had 55 points tonight. He was ejected late in the game for spitting his mouth piece out towards the Blazers bench (it was his 2nd T of the game). He ran back to the locker room. The refs decided to not throw him out and brought back out from the locker room to re-enter the game and shoot a FT (he had just made a basket and got fouled).
Kings win. Cousins is interviewed after the game. He starts dropping f bombs and curses about how it's ridiculous that the refs target him. The Kings broadcast drops his mic.. |
