Trading Lou is what a smart rebuilding team would do. Lou is playing out of his mind and upped his trade value. The Lakers will not make the playoffs this year, so what is the point of keeping Lou on the team?

Say you keep Lou, and end up winning 32 games. And you trade him, and end up winning 26 games. What's the difference?

The Lakers aren't going to be a great team with Lou Williams on the team. They might become a great team if they can find a Paul George/Kawhi Leonard type player in the latter 1st round if that is the pick you get for trading Lou.

Yes because what we need are more 19 year olds.

Yup. No surprise he's stinking it up this season. Got the money. Got the girl. What else do you need.

Same formula now, just don't have the pieces to come back. A good team doesn't routinely go down double digits. A good team we are not.

What if this is the new normal? Ugh.

If Russell and Ingram aren't stars, this will be the new normal.

It's just hard to tell right now if what we saw was normal, or us playing above our heads because right now we are looking like last years squad.

So the question is, when we get the guys back, will we just snap back to what we were or stay on the current course with our players back?

No idea. The team needs perfect structure because the young guys have so many bad habits, but in a long season they could take two steps back for every 2.5 steps forward.

Its tricky trading Lou...hes only 30 and the way he plays seems like it can translate into a long career.. hes never going to be good at defense but his ability to create on offense will be there even at a later age IMO...If lakers get a good first round pick you might have to do it but other than that he might be worth holding onto .

He's a career 6th man for a reason.

He's not the problem. Far from it. He's symbolic of the problem. They rely on him too much to get buckets, and then it becomes 1 on 5 ball and no one else does anything on offense and defense. They are what, 0-5 with Lou scoring 30+ points?

If over the next 15 game, we fall out of playoff race....I would trade him if someone made a good offer. I dont know what that is, just saying.

If our goal is to be a playoff team this or next year we need Lou over a chance to get another unproven 19 year old. We have a lot of young players and they need development.

You mean when 4-5 rotation players were out and he's the only one stepping up?

We need better talent. Period. Superstar caliber players or players that have the potential to develop into Superstar caliber players.

Lou Williams is just a guy. A guy that scores points on bad teams.

If that 19 year has the potential to be a defender, then yes. This team desperately needs more defensive talent than just Ingram.

They rely on him to get baskets because he's the only one capable of doing it right now. I have little confidence with anyone else putting up shots that look like they have a chance to go in. Lou somehow finds a way.

Matt Kemp started to suck after he dated Rihanna. Once he dumped her, he came back for an MVP season in 2011.

Clarkson strikes me as having gone too hollywood. He doesn't want to work on his game and be the best. The guy is from Texas and played college in Oklahoma/Missouri. The LA lifestyle might be too much for him to focus on getting better.

And I don't think anything positive has ever come from a man getting with any of the Kardashians. Lamar Odom certainly was not helped by it.

Did you say that the last 3 times we got 19 year olds? You don't seem pleased with them. What makes you think another one is better?

Ingram has had to throw it up from the corner without time to think about it 3 times this year, and i think he has drained all 3 that I recall.....pretty sure its all in his confidence and over thinking it

Personally, I'm very pleased with Russell and Ingram. Not so pleased with Randle. Why not add a 19 year old who may have more upside than all three?

No, I'm saying that at least swing the ball every once in a while and get back on the defensive end. In fact, this was the biggest frustration with Lou and Philly, Toronto and Atlanta. He got buckets but then decided stop giving effort on the defensive end. I don't mind the baskets. but at least PRETEND to play defense. Hell, commit some hard fouls, but do something.

I don't know how Ingram made that miracle three but he needs to take THOSE type of shots on a consistent basis to get his confidence up. Sure they may lose games but his aggression level has to go up. That's the Ingram I wanted to see all game.

That's what the draft is though. It's taking a chance to find a great player. A difference making player. Even if you keep missing in the draft, you have to keep taking your shots.

I'd rather take a shot on trying to find a great player for the long term, than keep Lou Williams around.

And the team isn't going that direction. They could have tanked otherwise again but they have several great young prospects who will need years to develop.

Man, do I really hate reading comments that blame a woman who's not even playing an NBA basketball game for an actual player's struggles. Kendall Jenner is not playing a basketball game. Jordan Clarkson is. Come on.

Also, it feels like no one here has ever seen a losing streak before.

Also also, I don't like JC's answers post-game.

Am I seeing people complaining about Lou? He's probably responsible for most of the comeback games we have had this season... without him our offense freezes and his offensive aggression is what brings us out of our slump when other players are playing lackadaisical.

We'll see if it's the right move in a few years. If they controlled their picks it wouldn't matter, but it might have been wise to tank for one last season - maybe that's next year.

A team needs a blend of veterans and young prospects. Many teams actually tried what you are saying and they are horrible for many years and continue to be horrible.

Time changes. Look @ our number 2 pick. It will be a wonderful player in 4 years. They are not letting this kids grow. This is how it is! Now JC is another tune...
