Edit. Embarrassingly, this is an old article. Sorry. RIP anyway

I didn't see anything about this. Very important musician and definitely a passage worth noting. RIP

Uh, that article is from 2012....just saying. It certainly doesn't make him any less important though, but we can't blame 2016 for this one.

With that being said, here's one of my favorite songs of his from one of my favorite albums

Good catch. I was shocked since I thought he was already gone. Call it the 2016 syndrome.

Oh my god we lost Brubeck AGAIN?!

I think that Mayan doom calendar was about 4 years off.

Lol. It's all good. I say we now use this thread as a place to honor all of the great musicians we lost in "2016" with YouTube links of their best or our personal favorites.

Can you believe we lost Jimi?! Damn you 2016! RIP

Yeah, Brubeck died a few years ago. Was fortunate to have seen him live, later in his life. Guy was still touring in his 80's. Take 5 was his most famous piece, but I've always been more partial to Blue Rondo a la Turk and its 9/8 time signature. And yeah -- Paul Desmond.

Caught him at Shelly's Manne Hole on North Cahuenga in Hollywood. In the audience was Gilligan, (Bob Denver). Would loved to have gotten his autograph but really felt I would have been intruding. Jazz musicians are the epitome of cool.
