LA gets Noel, Rubio, Covington, Ilyasova (expiring)
PHI gets Clarkson, Muhammad (expiring), Huertas (expiring [T.O.])
MIN gets Deng, Robinson (expiring), LAL 2017 2nd, LAL 2018 2nd

Re-sign Noel and Young (on a team-friendly contract [$30M/3yr, w/T.O.]) this off-season.
Sign a backup guard on a one-year deal.
Punt the remaining cap space for 2018.

2017-2018
Russell (5.5)/Rubio (14.1)
Young (10)/Williams (7)/random G (5?)
Ingram (5.5)/Covington (1)
Randle (4.1)/Nance (1.2)
Mozgov (15.2)/Noel (18?)/Black (6.6)/Zubac (1)

= ~$94.2M

Black and Lou are off the books in 2018.
Max Paul George, make a QO to Randle (at $5.5M) and re-sign Covington.

2018-2019
Russell (7)/Rubio (14.8 [expiring])
George (28)/Young (10 [expiring/T.O.])
Ingram (5.7)/Covington (2)
Randle (5.5QO)/Nance (2.2)
Mozgov (16)/Noel (18)/Zubac (1.1)

= ~$110.3M

Young might re-sign for $10 mil per, but I don't see Noel doing that, he is likely looking to be paid.

Irsan has been very good for the 76ers. Doubt they trade him. He is a good fit with their team.

THere is no way we are going to get that much return back

I don't think the deal could include the 2018 Laker 1st, since the 2017 and 2019 first round picks have been dealt.

Edited to include two future 2nds instead.

How is it possible to include the second round picks from 2017 and 2018 in your trade scenario?

Future Traded Pick Details

Quote:

2019 first round draft pick to Orlando
If the L.A. Lakers convey a 1st round pick to Philadelphia in 2017, then the L.A. Lakers will convey their 2019 1st round pick to Orlando; if the L.A. Lakers do not convey a 1st round pick to Philadelphia in 2017, then the L.A. Lakers will instead convey their 2017 2nd round pick and 2018 2nd round pick to Orlando [L.A. Lakers-Orlando, 8/10/2012]

If we finish outside of the bottom-3 (which is likely) and our pick goes to Philly, don't we keep our 2nd round picks in that scenario?

As with any trade scenario, including the one you quoted, it would come down to contingencies. If A can't happen, then B will. That is how deals are made. That being said, I am pretty sure Thib's love of Deng is greatly overblown here.

If enough things happen, then they (Lakers) will have a top 3 pick in the 2017 draft and be obligated to send the two second round picks (2017 and 2018) to Orlando.

Since your trade proposal didn't specify an alternate - backup plan on what Minnesota would get if Orlando gets the second round picks (2017 and 2018), then it gets murky and unlikely to get approval by the league.

The 2019 second round pick has already been used in a trade (Hibbert).

So the next two second round LA picks available to send out are the 2020 and 2021.

They do have some second round picks incoming from the Calderon trade:

Quote:

2018 second round draft pick from Denver
Denver's 2018 2nd round pick to L.A. Lakers (via Utah to Chicago) [Denver-Golden State-Utah, 7/10/2013; Atlanta-Chicago-Utah, 2/18/2016; Chicago-L.A. Lakers, 7/7/2016]

2019 second round draft pick from Chicago
Chicago's 2019 2nd round pick to L.A. Lakers [Chicago-L.A. Lakers, 7/7/2016]

If those two incoming picks are part of the backup plan in case the 2017 and 2018 LA second round picks go to Orlando, then mention them in the trade proposal.
