So basically Mozgov is a faster version (who isn't?) of Hibbert.

Haven't listened to the podcast yet but I remember saying that in the summer

His defense is the context.

Mozgov makes me laugh. First of all he gets no favor in the "verticality" department and it's like every ref decides going into the game that mozgov can't touch a player or he'll be whistled. Then, understandably so, mozgov goes to the bench cursing at someone. That's mozgov pretty much every game. Pretty much the only time they let mozgov get away with any kind of contact is vs cousins who intentionally seeks contact and tries to bully his defender.

he gets more than his fair share of questionable touch fouls, but the dude also displays shock and amazement every time the whistle blows against him..even when he just mauled someone.

Golf clap at the 1:03 mark for the fresh honesty about Nick Young's insanely over-hyped defense. He makes one or two good defensive plays a game and commentators fall over themselves about it (TNT's coverage of the Dallas game comes to mind). The numerous possessions where he's indifferent or lost never are mentioned.

You're a trooper for making it to the 1:03 mark.

And this year of watching & re-watching things over & over have given me a great deal of appreciation for the difference between how things seem vs. how they actually are. Nick Young's defense is one of those things.

I haven't listened yet (looking forward to it)- but my 2 cents are that he is our best guy at chasing perimeter players around screens and giving a second effort after he gets beat, but has the same communication and focus issues that a lot of our guys do. I still put him above DLO on the defensive end (I don't fully trust the RPM numbers here) based on just these two things.

I have been trying to move on from talking about the horrible Mozgov signing. Listening to the podcast didn't help

Basically our MLE back up C (and a whole lot of other bugs signed for less) is having a better or similar impact than our prized 64M starting C
