The skill level is there to compete with any team. Kids just need to mature a bit.

We also need to stop getting screwed by the refs

That's been going on for a long time, remember the 2004 finals?

Gave up another season-high to an overpaid scrub. Wash, rinse and repeat.

Luke's rotations once again... JC was hot he takes him out and we get down big and lose the game. Luke gave this game to the Blazers they shouldn't have won.

Portland fans have been terrified all season. The Blazers have NOT been a good team this season. Their D is almost as bad as ours.

Refs lost us this game when they kept calling weak offensive fouls on Brandon's drives to the basket, that totally killed all the momentum we had.

Defense remains the problem. Giving up 116 points is no bueno . I thought one of Ingrams fouls was a little funny but the Lakers overall were getting every call they wanted on drives and jumpers. I didn't see the foul on a lot of them. The free throw parade in the first quarter when they couldn't buy a jumper is what really got them clicking. Then they just refused to defend.

Blazers are awful, but they have all the ingredients to kill this Laker roster. Quick guards, athletic wings, and an assortment of serviceable bigs.

It should be an easy win tomorrow, so at least this won't linger too long. Lakers need to win tomorrow, no excuses.

Dlo looked good tonight. His post up moves looks sick. If he works on it little more i think he will be unstopable. Then he can work on becoming a lock down defender then he can be a superstar in this league.

Ingram looks more confident in his shots and his D has always been good. His D will only get better with experience and as soon as his shots start to fall he will be a superstar in the league.

They can lose or win it doesn't matter, we aren't getting the 8th seed.

team is young and doesn't know who or how to close games yet. Also Lou's defense on turner was what killed them

I can live with loses but not when a scrub like Turner looks like a world star in the 4th quarter, the ref zebras didn't help, this was a bad lose hopefully Willie Reed doesn't have a 30 point game tomorrow.

Usual story. They get tested in the 2nd half and resort to hero-ball. Complain about the calls all you want, but chucking 7 three's and missing them ALL in the last 3-4 minutes of the game when DLo's midrange/postgame was working is what killed us. Not to mention the atrocious experiment that was Lou on Turner.

I agree. The refs DID suck, but that's a given for any Laker game played in Portland. What really killed our chances of winning were giving up second chance points when we have the personnel to block out and get rebounds, Lou on Turner for too long, but most of all - like you said - abandoning the offense and going into long range chuck mode when the game was on the line the last 4 minutes. In spite of the fact that DLO's post-up and mid-range game was working well against the Blazers.

I hope Luke and a few players took some notes, considering we play them twice more this month.

We lost to a Blazer team that played GSW the night before.

Really bad lost, however, I think Luke was experimenting this game with lineups, etc.
