I would be lying if I don't say that my concerns regarding Russell's attitude didn't relate to this. But there's another reason why I think both teams should do this.

For the Knicks - they get the PG they wanted to draft, Melo gone and Rose gone, also handing over the team to Porzingis and Russell to develop. Throw in a couple serviceable veterans and savings of 4 Million dollars on the season and I think they'd be happy.
For the Lakers - Firstly, They get rid of those giant 4 year contracts and get 2 household names for their fans who I believe would fit well in Luke Walton offense, and I believe would thrust the Lakers into title contention while still developing the young core, (the Lakers may even make the playoffs this season) . If there are any concerns about Rose panning out, he has a giant expiring contract; of course if he does pan out, it'll be a big win for the Lakers. The other thing is that it keeps the bench unit intact while bolstering the starting unit (injecting some scoring and athleticism) . Lastly for future seasons I believe Ingram could start at the 2.

Proposed lineups to end this season:

Rose - Lou
Young - Clarkson
Anthony - Ingram
Randle - Nance
Zubac - Black - Robinson

Next season for me hopefully should just be a switch between Ingram and Young. If Rose leaves, try to get CP3 to play with his good friend Carmelo and who knows depending on what happens in June, maybe LeBron and D-Wade may beg to come.

Hell no.

I've lived through the Kobe Farewell Tour.

I don't want to waste our time with the Melo Farewell Tour.

Have you checked on a pro Knicks web site to see if their fanbase would be happy with Deng and Mozgov clogging up their cap space for the next three seasons?

Not bad except for the Rose and Melo part.

Preferably Deng + Young. Trade Lou to someone else for a better return

First off, Rose's contract is up after this season, Melo has 2 more after this year.

Mosgov and Deng BOTH have (3) years after this one, so this trade gets the Lakers out of bad contracts faster,

So I am for it...

I don't think Phil is dumb enough to do it unless he wants to get fired and get back with Jeanie...!
