One dismal season over and now it's time for the draft and offseason moves!

Where will Romo/Cutler/Cousins go? Are Big Ben and Earl Thomas for real with retirement talk? Will Eric Yarber still suck as a receivers coach for the Rams? Will Green Bay ever get any help for Rodgers? What teams may pull off what Atlanta did in 2017 and take the next step? Will Shanahan/Lynch even make any difference under the York regime? Will the Raiders successfully move? Will anyone even watch a Chargers game at Stubhub? Does Arizona still have anything left in the tank? If a Krapernick kneels in a forest, will anyone still care? Who will be the #1 overall pick?

Looking forward to the draft next, I'm a bit of a draft geek so really excited about it, think there are some very good players in this draft, some depth at defensive back in this draft, which hasn't been the case recently.

For me, Myles Garrett has to be the top pick, he's a freak, looks the part, and has the makings of a dominant player.

Lot of QBs out there potentially. Kirk Cousins being the best available, then Romo possibly, Cutler maybe too, Tyrod Taylor maybe, and there are the Browns and Niners who project to have a lot of cap room, so maybe they try to get one of those guys. As for Kap, think he lands somewhere as a backup.

Green Bay are interesting, they cut Starks, got Lacy as a free agent, are they content with Ty Montgomery as the starting RB or will they try to re-sign Eddy? I know they need to get help for Rodgers, but they also need to address their secondary, their corners were god awful in the playoffs.

Great free agency class too, particularly interested in seeing what the Chiefs do with Eric Berry and Dontari Poe, not sure they can afford both, so someone might get themselves a good player there. Alshon Jeffery might be on the move too, Chandler Jones is intriguing, good number of other decent player on the market too.

As for my Chargers, the joke of a franchise that they have become lately, playing in a stadium that a division 2 college team would consider small, who knows what the hell they'll do next. They need to focus on re-signing Ingram, not messing up the draft, and getting some protection for Philip.

Likewise. There's very good DE/CB/TE depth in this one and bad if you're looking for a franchise QB. Watson has athletic ability but QB is the one position where you don't really need that. Trubisky is too underdeveloped and will need a lot of time. If Garrett isn't the #1 overall pick, it's likely the Browns being the Browns.

I don't know how well Cousins would be away from Jay Gruden. Still very turnover prone and he needs a good fit to succeed (though way better than RGMe). Romo is the better passer but just too fragile. If Palmer retires, that is the best fit for Romo to go to. Cutler would actually be a better fit for Denver but I don't think they'll go down that road again. Tyrod Taylor is a game manager and not a very good one.

GB needs an overhaul top to bottom on that D, starting with dumping Dom Capers on down. And maybe also a WR who won't get injured.

Jeffery might be a good buy-low guy because his risks are tremendous.

I don't know that Lynn is right guy for the Chargers. His assistants may be more qualified and if I were him, I'd let those two handle the playcalling because when Lynn briefly ran the ship in Buffalo, it was a disaster even for just 1 game.

I'm hoping my Phins can pick up either OJ Howard, TJ Watt, Jarrad Davis, or Tak McKinley with the lowest 1st rounder we've had in some time. I just wish we went with better for DC because even Joesph's schemes weren't that good. We had nobody at TE after Cameron had another concussion in a TE-centric offense. Need major talent upgrades at LB especially since Alonso is injury-prone and we've been running STers in there. Tony Lippett is too boom or bust as a CB and I still don't know what to expect out of Howard so a vet is a must. Gotta draft DE's for the future.

I don't think that Tyrod Taylor is a game manager at all. He actually throws the ball downfield and is pretty exciting as a runner. I'm not saying he's great, so please don't get me wrong. But Alex Smith is a game manager. A game manager, to me, is a guy that is super-protective of the football, isn't apt to challenge defenses, and doesn't turn the ball over much. Taylor is different. A defense does have to worry about him, even if he's not the prototypical pocket QB. (By the way, Taylor throws the ball better than many "pocket passers" I've seen in the league.)

It's interesting to me that Buffalo seems intent on moving on from Taylor. He's been the best QB they've had in years. It's incredibly unlikely that they will find someone better to play the position for them next season.

I follow Bama so see a lot of OJ Howard, he's a lot better than people think, most Tide fans tend to agree on him being criminally under-used for most of his time in college. Quite intrigued by David Njoku too, don't have the same read on him that I do on OJ, but Njoku certainly looks the part.

Agreed; Tyrod Taylor is anything but a game manager. He's been described as Russ Wilson Lite, but I don't see that either as he hasn't the field of vision or accuracy of Wilson. He is an above average, dual-threat QB who was plagued with health problems at WR. Still, I think takes flight too early. He's the best Buffalo can do at QB next season, but his contract explodes next season, to the tune of almost $10 million more than they paid him this season. I think they'll try to renegotiate his contract, under the threat of releasing outright.

Well the Colts draft might be something to look forward to but I think its a rebuild/bridge year.

I think Pagano is a goner after this season.

I also think Romo will stay in Dallas or retire. I don't think a team wants to deal with his injury history(even though he would be an upgrade for a lot of teams)

If Buffalo does release him--which I think is the most likely outcome--here are the teams that could have QB openings:

San Francisco
Doubtful fit, given that Shanahan's scheme would seem to fit a pocket-passing, accurate QB

Arizona
This is a potential opening if Palmer retires, and even though Taylor takes deep shots and Arians likes vertical passing, he also has a scheme that would seem to favor a pocket passer and not a dual threat, although I could be wrong. Overall, not sure this is a fit, even if Palmer surprisingly hangs up his cleats.

Chicago
This could be a possibility, since Cutler will be released and they could see Taylor as a bridge QB

Denver
Elway reportedly had interest in trading for Kaepernick before last season, and Taylor is a better thrower of the football than Kaep is. Won't rule this out completely.

Cleveland
Another possibility as a bridge QB. Hue Jackson wanted RGIII last season, and Taylor is a safer bet than RGIII is now. Could see Hue having interest in a dual-threat QB.

Houston
It's likely that O'Brien would prefer a pocket passer, but after what they just endured with Osweiler, it's hard to imagine Taylor not being a significant upgrade. Perhaps an outside chance here, if they don't get Romo (or Cutler).

NY Jets
Rumored to be a possible landing spot for Cutler, but if that doesn't happen, this is a team with a gaping hole at QB and no obvious QB of the future on the roster.

So that's 7 potential teams that need a QB, or 6 if Palmer doesn't retire (and I assume that Palmer will come back). I think that Kaep would be lucky to find a starting job. Taylor, Cutler, and Romo are worthy of starting jobs somewhere. I would expect that Jimmy Garroppolo and Mike Glennon will interest teams. And, of course, some of these teams may just look to the draft to find a QB. But this is not a loaded QB draft, and for teams that do take a QB, perhaps that player won't be ready to start right away.

EDIT: Actually, it's still 7 teams that will need openings, even if Palmer retires, because I forgot to mention that Buffalo would also need a QB. They just wouldn't be a possibility for Taylor, if they release him LOL.

He's a game manager with a rocket arm but still a game manager. But his job is to not turn the ball over and not force throws. He may make a long ball throw once in a while but that's not the gameplan. Like Smith, he isn't someone who you want throwing the ball a lot and Smith is a runner too. In fact, Alex Smith has a higher ypa than Taylor. Arm strength is not the end all for determining a pocket thrower. Michael Vick had a hell of an arm but I doubt anyone would ever label him a pocket QB.

We have a backup QB in Moore who's still under contract and Krapernick is the worst possible fit for Gase's offense.

Bradley was probably the biggest name out there (honestly, he'd have been a better fit staying in Florida). Chargers surround Lynn with ex-HC's but they wouldn't have to if they found another guy who could hold his own with X's & O's.

Howard was impressive in the Senior Bowl game and practices. Njoku is pretty impressive also and comes from a TE-making school. Pre-injury, Jake Butt would've been in the mix, but right now, he may be a bargain pick in later rounds. As for Williams, we've needed an edge setter against the run more than pass rush out of our LB corps. I wouldn't mind the pick, but he wouldn't fix the Achilles heel of the D, unless we managed to find a thumper vet LB in FA.

Peppers I think will really have to see who else is on the team to support his deficiencies. Even for a LB/S hybrid, he's on the lighter side and he struggles badly when blocked. We'll have to see in Combine if he bulked up without losing speed.

Your preference depends upon how you see the TE fitting your present or future offense. I see Howard as an in-line TE. NJoku is a Joker TE.

It's likely in-line TE seeing as the focus now is on running the ball, which is why Dion Sims was our starter. I think Gase would eventually want to feature a Joker TE though that could be more developing Thomas Duarte.

Wonder how the NFL is going to work at the StubHub Center...you have the biggest sport in the USA playing games in this tiny stadium....probably a lot safer to tailgate in Carson though, compared to South LA....

Jokes aside, he has been quite an ambassador for Type 1 diabetes. Met many kids who were inspired by him and had met him personally.

Who could possibly be inspired by Jay Cutler? He's the most miserable athlete I've ever seen. He is an ambassador for "indifference" more than diabetes.

Whatever his temperament or his reality TV nutjob wife are, there's something to be said about someone with Type 1 diabetes who can play at the highest level of sports that can be inspiring to young newly-discovered patients with this rarer form of diabetes.

How much money do the Broncos have to spend? I know they went thrifty on QB last season, but considering they won a SB with their QB's throwing 23 INT to 19 TD's, imagine what they could do with Romo or Cousins or even bringing back Cutler.

I believe that if they release Okung and one other guy (I forgot who it was, so forgive me, but it must not be a star contributor or they wouldn't be releasing them), they can get up to $40MM in cap space. That includes letting Ware walk. I don't think cap space will be an issue for Denver, not as it relates to absorbing Romo. But they, like other teams, may simply be waiting for Dallas to release him. It's gonna be interesting.

Yeah, what a shocker if they release Okung. Some Bronco fan actually thought he was an elite Tackle after they signed him last year.

9 TD's to 17 INTs and he was the second QB to ever do it first one was Bart Starr with the Packers.

Former Dolphin Quentin Moses dies in a house fire

Former Dolphins defensive end/linebacker Quentin Moses died on Sunday morning in a house fire in Monroe, Georgia.

Fire Chief Keith Glass said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, that three people were killed in the fire, including a mother and daughter who were found inside the home. Moses was moved outside the house after being found unconscious, but later died at the hospital. Glass said the roof of the house collapsed as firefighters worked to get the fire under control.

Moses grew up in Georgia and played for the University of Georgia before being selected in the third round of the 2007 draft by the Raiders. Moses was waived before playing a game for the team and wound up in Miami, where he spent four seasons and had 3.5 sacks for the Dolphins.

Our condolences to the families and friends of all those who died on Sunday.

One dismal season over and now it's time for the draft and offseason moves!

Where will Romo/Cutler/Cousins go?

I'm hoping for Siberia.

This I do agree with he did a lot around these parts with his partnership with Eli Lilly over this as well.
