How much could former No. 3 pick Jahlil Okafor help the Pelicans or another team if he's traded before the deadline? Kevin Pelton projects the young center's potential.
If the sides agree to go through with a trade, sources said, New Orleans is expected to send backup center Alexis Ajinca and a future first-round pick to Philadelphia in exchange for Okafor. A source told ESPN's Justin Verrier that a 2018 first-rounder is being discussed.
GT scared me when he talked about this potential trade on twitter. He mentioned "the next Tim Duncan" line we heard about Okafor and I thought he was referring to Zubac lol

I hope the trade goes through. I think Okafor will surprise a lot of people. IMO his game is stymied in Philly. How do you get the max from three quality centers? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

But Embiid is breaking out of the logjam at the center. I believe Okafor will benefit from a new environment but seeing as how they had a competition between the 3 centers and Embiid came out the winner, that doesn't exactly bode well for Okafor.

All three have had their opportunities. Look how many DNP CDs or missed games from injury they've had between them. Two of them contributed to wins when they had the opportunities, and one dragged them down. That's why he's on his way out.
Dell Demps would be one of the few GMs who overpays for Okafor. If the Pels send out their 2017 pick without lottery protection for him, Demps should be jettisoned the next day.
They really have no choice. How can they play Okafor, Noel, Embiid and Simmons all together? Someone has to go. That trade is terrible though. Why trade for a center?

Yeah. Makes no sense they can't get a quality guard out of this trade. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

Embiid would have beaten most centers for the starting position. He beat Noel who's also a quality center that would start on most teams.
Embiid is a beast. His health should be a concern. If he stays healthy he'll most likely emerge as a force to be reckoned with. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

At the time it seemed dumb that they would draft 3 centers, but they get to choose the best out of the 3. Now they just gotta shore up the rest of the lineup and let the other 2 go if they can.

Philly has a good young nucleus. Embiid 22, Noel 22, Okafor 22, Simmons 20.
They should get a quality player for either Okafor or Noel. I think it's going to be Jahlil.
If they keep this team together, get a good draft, they have a shot at becoming a force.
They played a hellofa game tonight against the Magic. Won on a last shot with 5 seconds left in the game. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Why would they trade for another rotation quality center? That's like the last thing they need. And it's not like they need more first round picks either...

I don't think they will. They have Embiid and Noel. When Simmons gets well they'll be strong in big men. I think Okafor is going on the block. He should get them a quality player and some draft choices. They're in good shape with draft picks and youth. They'll be a force when they get healthy. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
