Lakers were also very interested but weren't willing to give the Kings asking price
Two bigs like AD and Cousins together
Interesting |

Someone on Twitter mentioned stories will leak about Cousins in the next 24 hrs which will explain why the Kings made this move. It was some Atlanta beat reporter(seems random but it would explain a lot)
Vlade should be used to lopsided trades remember he was traded for Kobe all those years ago. |

I'm assuming that the Kings are very high on Hields. They probably are also looking at gaining lottery position this year. They also may get a lottery pick out of the Pelicans, because although the team will be better no guarantee Davis/Cousins alone can get them in the playoffs this year. Their own lottery pick may be top 4 or 5 this year now.
That said, seems quite low what they got at first glance, unless Hield is much better than initially thought. They also got Tyreke Evans back, who they drafted a long time ago. But he is a free agent. Word is they will waive Langston Galloway. |

So basically we could have had cousins in exchange for Clarkson? Or even better for Mozgov and Deng? |

You assume the Kings would ever give that kind of deal to the Lakers in the first place.
Based on past history why would you think that would happen? |

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that the NBA wants to make the Pelicans happen and they had a role in this BTS. Maybe I'm giving the Kings too much credit but I figure they would want to trade him out of conference.
At least he didn't go to the Cavs or Warriors. |

I would of game them Ingram, Clarkson, Randle for what they got for Cousins.
Man I really hope this long road thing works out.
I would be loving a
Russell
Young
Deng
Nance
Cousins
Starting line right now. |

Not sure how I feel about not moving BI for Cousins. I'm really hoping the kid pans out but he is looking like a risk now as a bust.
I'd pack Randles bags for him tho. Haha |

If we know anything about todays NBA is that superstars love to team up with each other.
Potential players leaving for the Pelicans?
CP3
Westbrook
PG13
Who knows...all I know is that the Pelicans have better pieces to compete versus yesterday. |

Exactly right. They were never going to give US (Lakers) that deal. Vlade made it clear he'd be passed out dead somewhere before he'd give us Cousins.
Well anyway, at least Boogie doesn't have to pack now lol (jk obvs) _________________ #IStillBelieveTaurean |

BTW, Warriors weakness last year was against big men like Steven Adams....imagine how much tougher their first round matchup could be if they face the 2 headed monster of Cousins and Davis. Now imagine if the Pelicans aren't done and surround themselves with shooters..... |

I had a dream that the Lakers one day had Cousins or Davis....never could I imagine they would both be on the same team. |

Well, considering what a head case Cousins is, I read that he is expecting a max. contract at $219million ($31mil x 7 years) and I doubt many people here would have seen that as a long term solution to what ails the Lakers... _________________ “Always remember... Looks like Sac fans might just momentarily stop whining about 2002 Game 6 as they're declaring Vlade as the "Worst GM ever." |

Please get the #8 seed now. Looks like a good chance that will happen and we would see a Warriors-Pelicans matchup in the first round. I thought we were going to get something like Warriors-Denver which would be pointless and a sweep. |

They have also had trouble with that Gasol-Randolph duo in Memphis, but those two look like a joke compared to what the Pelicans have. I will say however that I still have some doubts about Cousins. |

I'm really interested to see what Demps has in mind for acquiring a decent wing player. They don't have much trade assets left. Ajinca, Asik, Terrence Jones? It's not gonna be easy. |
