They should've gotten an additional second for taking on Brewer's contract. That's my only P&M so far post transition. |

As far as I'm concerned, so far so good. |

Wow. I was really not happy with how the transition was done and I can't stand Jeanie and am worried about Magic, but really? _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel |

What grinds my gears a little bit is that we got a 27th pick for taking on Lin...
This deal, we got a 27th for taking on Brewer *and* we traded away Lou Williams.
But if this was the best deal out there, then it's the best deal out there and you get the 1st. Rather take Brewer's contract than Nicholson. _________________ Austin Reaves

Don't have a problem with the Lou trade. We need to collect assets, and Lou is not part of the team core.
But yeah, they're on the clock. Let's hope Magic can draw some free agents to LA. |

The Lakers are a WINNING organization
0-2 is UNACCEPTABLE
Trading your best player for COREY BREWER??? that's a move the Sixers would make.
Dr. Buss would be rolling over his grave if he saw what JEANNIe and MAGIC were doing to the franchise
...am I doing it right? |

What's Magic's equivalent of Chaz the bartender? Byron? |

I feel the same way. But I need a sliver lining. So I'm going to hope that Magic and his over-sized ego can draw stellar free agents to LA (something Jim and Mitch never managed). |

Well you covered my thoughts right there.
Guess it's never too early to get a jump start on complaining. Hopefully it doesn't happen, but these two(Magic & Jeannie) could give us plenty of material in the future. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest |

I'm concerned about how hands-on Magic will be. I've heard too much about him evaluating the team, and I have zero faith in his ability to professionally evaluate talent. My fear is he falls in love/hates a guy, and when everyone disagrees with him, he does what he wants anyway. I've listened to him as a talking head and I've always thought he was cringe worthy. I just hope he listens to the people around him.
I also want to know how long we are supposed to give Magic and co.? Everyone bashed on Jim/Mitch because we're not winning, but all Magic keeps saying is be patient. Truthfully, I don't think it mattered who you brought it, we're in a tough spot, but curious how long the honey moon lasts before it's the same old, same old. |

The Rockets weren't looking at cap space to sign a FA this time. Completely different situation. The same reason we got two 2nds for Calderon in the offseason and nothing for him now. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Honestly? His statements on Okafor, Jimmer, Brendan Knight et al. (bleep) that people will bring up ad infinitum if he is nearly as moronic in the Lakers' FO as he is on twitter. At least with Byron you can argue he's just backing up his friend. |

Just how much time is on this clock?
Honestly, I don't expect much to happen in free-agency this summer. That's not on the new front office. The current state of the team is not attractive to star free-agents regardless of how much charm Magic brings to the meetings. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. The new FO is fortunate they won't have to concern themselves with trying to keep rebuilding the team around Kobe like Jim and Mitch had to. All the media criticism leveled against them regarding our four year playoff drought doesn't mention how our priorities were different. Unlike teams who've been rebuilding through the draft the last 4 years, we mortgaged our future trying to squeeze one more championship out of him.
I just hope we don't get in such a rush to become buzz-worthy again they make the same mistake. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Magic said we would be looking towards the future and be innovators once again... He also said we will move away from Showtime... My gripe is, we should bring all those old guys back into front office jobs, including Byron! And in the offseason trade everyone for Melo, bring Kobe out of retirement (at any cost), D-Wade, Steve Ash, trade for Noah and Bosh, find Carlos Boozer and sign him, bring back Hibbert (#ComebackHibs), and anyone else on the wrong side of 30.... |
