Lakers Refused Any Trade Offers For Jordan Clarkson At Deadline

Makes sense. He worth more as a player than the lesser players we could get to replace his whole and he's a valuable asset that can be used along with other assets to acquire a better player. Either way, absolutely no value to be had in trading him right now in a trade where he is the best player involved.

Good to see that the FO has faith in him.

He did a good job scoring today. He gets to the rim with so much ease.

Yeah I liked him attacking the paint today. Now mix in some more playmaking. I want to start back seeing those 16/4/4 games again.

I miss the playmaking from his rookie season when he went after boards too. Not a bad game again, but we know he can do better.

i liked what i saw from him today, saw some glimpses of rookie clarkson.

i don't think he should be playing 17 minutes straight though. Towards the end he reverted back to his new self, but that's really up to Luke to pull him out and let him know

Tonight we didn't see rookie Clarkson.

Rookie Clarkson wouldn't have lost the ball trying to go 1 on 5 the way he did tonight as often as he did.

However we saw Clarkson fully in a shooting guard mode today.

This is why I think Tyler Ennis should be our backup 1.

I agree...his best games are when he is in the 15-5-5 range....if he could get his 3 point shot closer to 40%, I think the potential is there to become a 20-4-4 player.

TS% is lower than I expected but 16-3-3 is a lot nicer than before.
If he plays more with Brewer, Ennis, and Nwaba, then expect his FG% to drop even more. lol

Not a bad job tonight, he was burdened by being the only player on the floor who could score.

Rookie JC was pretty good at the mid range shot. Present day JC seems like he can only do layups.

Is the "New JC" still a valuable piece for the future Lakers? I would like to see more passing/assists and better outside shooting.

Is he playing any better defense?

On the offensive end, he can attack the rim and run fast break very well. On the defensive end, he has the quickness and athletism to defense 1 to 3. The 3s will come someday. And he is a durable player without major injury. I see no reason to trade him right now when his prime is coming and contract size is reasonable

Will be a nice piece (if he is kept and not traded in a PG13 package) as our future 6th man/possible starter. Not playing Lou ball anymore.

Lakers' Jordan Clarkson thriving with more responsibility since Lou Williams trade

Quote:
“I feel more comfortable just because there’s a lot of opportunities out there,” Clarkson said. “It’s coming back to you and stuff like that, the ball is. When you’re in that situation, you can make more plays for your teammates. You don’t relax. But you can kind of see the game and it kinds of comes to you instead of forcing it and being aggressive.”

For a guy who can get to the hoop as easily as he can, pretty surprising he shoots so few free throws.
