Nick Young is a terrible player, guy couldn't even fetch a bottom tier second round pick.

Guy is a league minimum player on the open market.

I honestly have no idea. I'd sure like to get a better feel for Magic and Pelinka's approach, but Pelinka hasn't even had a presser yet since he's not official.

I don't think anyone's job is at stake, but all bets are off.

Young gets bigger one year to stay and hold cap + the rookie contracts we will add.

Those are the only three that definitely earned their way back next year. Unless a star is coming back in return, they should be off limits in any trade.

Well, assuming no trades, and no unexpected signings of superstar FA's, we'll 100% have

DLO
Ingram
Randle
Nance
Zub
JC
Tarik
Rocket's pick
Our top 3 pick/2nd round pick

That's 9 right there. Leaves 6 spots. I'm guessing we don't stretch Moz or Deng until after next year, and doubt anyone takes Brewer without us sending an asset (which we have no reason to do).

Moz
Deng
Brewer

That's 12. One or two of the next 3 spots will probably be large 1 year FA deals to punt cap space to 2018 when Cousins/PG are available. Nick Young is an ideal candidate for one of these.

Most likely that or opting in because Nick loves LA that's why.

I doubt it, there gonna need the cap space to sign there Top FA and if we resign Young we lose cap space so he is likely a goner.

We're not signing any one this off-season. We'll maybe sign a big money 1 year deal, but that's about it.

Magic being here gives us a chance to get a good FA, every non-Laker folks are giving the current Lakers regime there due.

I have thought about this an I wonder if he would go that route...because it would effectively end his Laker career since his cap hold would have to be dumped the following year. I still will not be shocked if he opts in.....i know he is playing well and increased his value....but is another team going to offer a full MLE for Swaggy over multiple years? He may opt in just in hopes the Lakers will be willing to use his Bird rights the following year to offer him a multi year deal.

I doubt it. Nick is getting up there in age. By the time his contract would be up next year, whether it's his current one or a larger 1+1 team option deal, he'll be 33 years old. At this point I think he'd have difficulty finding a contract significantly more than the veteran minimum that the Lakers could offer him after using their cap space.

Jesus Christ man. THEIR. THEIR DUE. THEIR THEIR. I'm drunk right now and I know the difference. You may be a regular poster but I can't even read your posts when they're constantly incorrect grammatically. Good god

Definitely keep:
- Russell
- Ingram
- Zubac
- Nance
- Ball

Available for trade for a good offer, but no problem on keeping:
- Randle
- Clarkson
- Black

I'd try to move, but not likely to happen:
- Deng
- Mozgov

Would fight for a spot in training camp:
- Brewer
- Robinson

Thanks for everything:
- Young (though I like Omar's idea of a big 1-yr contract to punt cap)
- Calderón
- Ennis
- World Peace

Nance has had a huge drop off in recent weeks, if there a chance we can trade him for value along with another player then that should be a option, and even if he bounces back, his injury issues might be a problem to deal with.

Understandable, he's a big part of the team, but he's 1 guy you can trade without jeopardizing the future.

Makes sense. We have more than enough good defensive players on this team already.

Unless trade, keep or under contract:

Russell,
Clarkson, Brewer
Ingram, Deng
Randle, Nance
Zubac, Mozgov

Add 3 picks, it makes 12 already.

So it will be:

Black
Young
Ennis

What will be the trade to obtain a third draft pick?

Maybe he thinks we will buy a pick?

Pretty much agree but don't worry if they don't have a ball, I'll bring mine.

Brewer can be a solid player off the bench next year and I think he can potentially have some value at the TD, he doesn't look completely done like Deng although I think Deng is more done mentally then physically I think he can do better for a playoff team, hopefully Jeannie can convince Phil to take a chance on Deng as a savvy vet who can come in and help egos in the Knicks locker-room.
