What is this guy thinking? The Warriors are only one game ahead in the loss column and will lose the season series without tomorrow's game and he's choosing to rest their star players? Against a Spurs team without Kawhi Leonard that they would have easily stomped?

Seriously, I was looking forward to the top two teams in the league fighting for the #1 seed, and now instead we get to see the marquee matchup of Patrick McCaw vs Kyle Anderson. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Are the Warriors insane? Lose 3 in a row? Lose HCA? Spurs rested last year bc their prime guys were in their 30's. Warriors prime dudes in their mid 20's. SOFT.

It's not rest. They've been awful and Kerr doesn't believe they can win tomorrow. Simple as that. He wants to just give them the game off and start over.

Sounds like quitting to me. No heart. No Passion. No fire.

The NBA office will eventually have to grow a pair and deal with this issue head on.
Games are expensive as is.
I used to remember when as a kid I would circle a date on the nba calendar and ask my dad to get us some tickets.
My dad was a working man, so that was some money.
You went to see the star players. Not their scrub bench mates.
Same applies now.
There's being sick, and then there is "rest."

I'm kind of looking forward to this game actually. Pau is going to look like Wilt Chamberlain against these scrubs. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

That's something.
But really if they just stopped players from not playing unless it was a certified
medical issue.
That's what needs to be done.

Then coaches will play them like 10 seconds before pulling them off the floor. If you try to do something about that like requiring a minimum number of minutes played, then you're stepping into a coach's decisions to distribute minutes during a game, which will not happen since it opens up all sorts of issues. It sucks, but it's reality now. We saw why last year and previous years. Warriors killed themselves getting the best regular season record in history, and fell short due to wear and injuries and a transcendent performance by Lebron and Kyrie, who both had time off during the regular season, iirc. Spurs would rest their players shamelessly to keep them fresh for the playoffs, while we fell short in 2003 since Horry got played into the ground during the regular season and had nothing left against the Spurs. It is just smart if you're planning on making a long run in the playoffs.
I hate it when two elite teams play each other, and at least one of them is on the second night of a back-to-back.
Yes, and the W's had an East Coast road trip, 5 games in 7 nights, then 1 day off before a home game, then 1 day off before a back-to-back road trip to MN / SA. That was pretty brutal.

I know how important rest is for athletes, but this whole thing of resting star players for no good reason is ludicrous. The league office needs to start issuing fines and warning all teams that unless a player is injured or has some kind of viral infection, they need to play. They are not only hurting their own chances at a championship, but they are cheating us fans out of our precious time and money and tarnishing the NBA product. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers

That is probably the first step, then they also extended the ASW to give players more rest. I'd venture to say, after the league implements as many measures as they can, then they will be more aggressive about stopping players from sitting out.

Cavs are resting James, Love, and Irving tonight against the Clips and are only 2 games ahead of Boston. Kermit.
They better not do it tomorrow too against the Lakers... I have tickets... _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Probably better off buying tickets from the secondary market on the day of the game considering some of these marquee matchups have become a joke since the teams rest the majority of their starters.
