Maybe i dont mind because my pops is just like he is, and i feel he did a great job as a dad and has had a really positive impact on my life. He doesnt (bleep), and he has earned my respect. As he once told me.. "if i ever see you lay hands on a woman, i'll personally smack living (bleep) out of you. I don't care how old you are, no son of mine will do that".
Just because people dont agree with the way he parents doesn't mean it is incorrect.. the proof is there, at least its effective. |
Right on with all of this. All of his support has been positive, even if it can be over the top, and we haven't seen him go after coaches or the team in losses (admittedly UCLA hasn't had many losses this season).
For anyone worried about Lavar Ball being a nuisance for the team that drafts Lonzo, remember that he's got two younger sons he has to hype up - he's going to be a busy man for the next few years. |

I wouldn't be dissuaded by a player's dad. Nonetheless, I do think Lavar is a bit of a blowhard. I guess cash in on his sons' success. Good for you. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I wonder how much of that stuff he actually believes. Saying outlandish stuff actually gets his family more attention and that's a great thing for his sons. |

While I'm glad his boys are turning out well, this dude exudes a sliminess that would make the worse child-actor parents blush. Glad all of Lonzo's achievements and future endorsements are also his. Just gross. _________________ KOBE |

Interesting how he averaged 2.2 pts at Washington State... |

This dude is plain crazy, I'm sorry. I can appreciate supporting your sons but when you talk about yourself like that, you're a freaking egomaniac. |

Sadly, looks like he's trying to live out his failed hoop dreams thru his sons. Was he that bad at Washington State that he decided to transfer to a lower division school in Cal State LA or did he sacrifice the remnants of his division 1 career for love? |

I'm fine with LaVar's attitude and proactive involvement on behalf of his kids. I'm reminded of comparatively humble basketball families like the Rushes and O'Bannons who decided to enter the system, and ended up with the short end of the deal. _________________ -Avenue of the Champions- -RIP Dr Buss- #824 |

He's raising the bar for his sons. They'll be expected to achieve at a high level.I don't know if that's going to effect their play. Maybe it's what motivates them. 1 BILLION DOLLARS? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

He talks a lot of trash for somebody who can't back it up.
I think he'll just end up alienating people that root for the opponent just to shut him up. |

No, they were talking about his dad. His dad was terrible in college but he does all the trash talking... |

Funny part is that however annoying you think the dad is or isn't, everyone keeps giving him an outlet to keep saying these things.
You think he's stupid or insane, so be it. Then why do you have him on your show or talk about him and perpetuate this whole thing.
The dad was a pure unknown until some outlet caught on to him and it all snowballed.
Bye. _________________ "This trophy removes the most odious sentence in the English Language. It can never be said again that 'the Lakers have never beaten the Celtics.'" -Dr. Jerry Buss (1985) R.I.P., 33 x M.V.O. |

I think he's trying to get whatever he can before everyone sees Lonzo is clearly better than the other 2. LiAngelo will not be an NBA player, and LaMelo thinks he's Steph Curry, so we'll see. |
