Does having the #1 or #2 Pick make any difference?

At least I don't talk about Moz/Deng contracts every day?

I have let that go When is the last time I mentioned them? Whatever that answer is, it's the longest since those horrible signings happened lol

I'm dismayed at our seeming inability to develop top young talent. That's why I see trades coming this summer. We don't like to grow our crops; they buy them from stores at a premium.

We know that's what Magic would prefer. We will see what kind of input Pelinka (seems to be the same as Magic) and West/Buss has in the process.

Rumor on the east coast is that Danny Ainge has a serious man crush on Ball.

Lol I don't blame him, Danny Ainge is a smart man

No one is really talking about anyone except Ball, which is pretty amazing given the "depth" of the draft, I mean we really cant go wrong, after the draft, the official official "The tank is dead" will be mandatory consciousness in all posts

That may be because of Magic.

Ainge witnessed his greatness up close and personal. Ainge was a tremendous basketball player, a true star. Magic was of course on another level, a savant or whatever you want to call it as far as playing WINNING basketball.

as you can see here, historically, if you're trying to draft an all star, you want to be picking 1st or 3rd. Picking 2nd is a bit of a trap.

I think it's a fallacy. The #3 guy could have been chosen #2 with the ideal thought process.

By draft time, I'm sure Lonzo will be the #1 pick.

I want the number one Pick we deserve it. The Cp3 robbery the Howard hustle.it's time for us to get some Love.
Also if we get the number 1 pick the pressure is on Magic to make a smart move. And by having the number one pick he has no excuses

You take Jayson Tatum ALL DAY over Josh Jackson. Depending on the tourney and the team picking, Tatum might play himself into the top two of the draft.

His offensive game reminds me of young Melo. Dudes going to be tough to stop. Best iso player in the draft.

All his draft choices disagree that he is smart man. James young, rosier.

Let's see, KAT vs Dlo. Simmons vs Ingram. You decide

Are you implying that Ingram is a bust? KAT vs DLo is clear but Simmons vs Ingram is still too early to call.

Not implying that ingram is a bust. Both dlo and Russell have potential to become good players. But KAT is a guaranteed starl Simmons hasn't played a single game yet, but he is likely to become a star as well. He will have a better first year than ingram tho. Won't be too hard to do that

Worst case scenario is keeping this roster and missing our lottery pick, then a 10 win season would be great.

That would be the worst case scenario because if we only can manage 10 wins next year, that only means our core youth has not developed, and in fact has taken a step backwards!

I am all for trading this pick with Clarkson or Randle for some decent player....I do not want to have Ball,Ingram,Clarkson,Russel, Randle, Nance, Zubac + one more rookie with HOU pick to start the season....this is not the way how you play in NBA....to have young guys for sure....to have so many of them HELL NO.

If we don't get a fair offer that will happen. Also I don't want to blow key assets on players that can leave us in a year.

I kind of agree with this, I hope we get lucky this year and get #1 so we can just pick Fultz and be done with it. However if we don't get 1 I think I also prefer 3 over 2. I am just kind of sketch about Lonzo even though I am a UCLA guy. I would rather see Josh Jackson or maybe even Tatum. I'd also love to see us package clarkson and somebody for another top 10 pick that we could hopefully use to land somebody like Monk or Lauri Markanan.

yes but Ball has played in a bigger market and has delivered against the best talent available, Fultz is right there as well, its like having a really easy tough decision if that makes it clearer
