D-Fenders Fall In Meeting Between D-League’s Top Two Teams

In a possible D-League Finals preview, the D-Fenders were unable to steal back the league’s best record from Raptors 905, which led the entire way in its 111-104 win. Los Angeles was playing without All-Star Justin Harper, who had been called up to the Philadelphia 76ers, and its opponent took advantage by leading by as many as 18 points.

They've dropped 3 in a row, but can't expect them to win games w/out their top guys. Coby Karl is okay with it because he's said his endgame is to get his players NBA call-ups. So far he's been successful. I still expect them to make it to the finals if Harper sticks.

With Harper back they will be a force once again. I look forward to seeing them make a Playoff run. Unfortunately Ayers is gone overseas.

D-Fenders Get Back On Track Versus Iowa

Quote:
The Los Angeles D-Fenders defeated the Iowa Energy on Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Arena, 103-99, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Los Angeles (30-13) was led in scoring by a career-high 22 points from NBA veteran DeJuan Blair, who also notched 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the year with the D-Fenders. Guard Josh Magette recorded a near triple-double with 18 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists. Meanwhile, Justin Harper (20 points, five rebounds) impressed in his first game back from an NBA Call-Up, and recently acquired Andre Ingram shot 5-8 from three-point range to score 17 points.

Can we transfer that 3 point shooting to our Ingram?

With only 11 games left, I kinda wish they could drop Metta so we could give another guy an audition. Nwaba seems like a decent find, we should be scouting around hoping to find another young player.

He missed the two previous games due to illness.

He is second in the league scoring @ 24.8 ppg. He made the All-Star team again. He and the team are doing quite well despite last night loss.

The little man with a triple double.

Only if he was a little physically stronger and a consistent three pointer he'd be a rotation backup in the NBA.

On pace to become one of the d-league GOATs, unfortunately.

I really want to see him make it, but he has to figure out what his niche is going to be in the NBA.

Blue (41 points) Breaks Free Throw Record (23-27), Lifts D-Fenders Past Reno

Quote:
The D-Fenders trailed for the majority of Wednesday’s game against the Reno Bighorns, but not when it mattered most. Powered by a 41-point performance from Vander Blue, Los Angeles took control in the fourth quarter to win their fifth consecutive road game while improving to 33-15 on the year.

Josh Magette (16 points, 12 assists) and Justin Harper (17 points, 10 rebounds) produced double-doubles.
Troy DeVries (19 points)
Travis Wear (14 points, eight rebounds)
Deshawn Stephens (12 points)

Agree.

I see him as a less efficient Lou type but he's turning 25 soon and he'll likely be a D-L lifer.

With Zubac out now for the rest of the season, I wonder if the Lakers could call-up some from the D-League on a ten day contract. I know they would have to waive someone, Justin Harper from the D-Fenders could be an interesting choice.
