Looking at the bracket, Arizona and UCLA could potentially meet in the championship game.... |

I love West Virginia's style on defense.
Full court press the entire game. So hard to play against, I remember. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

West Virginia shooting 25 percent for the game and tied with the top seed with 7 minutes left.
Maybe we should hire Bob Huggins. His teams are unbelievably relentless. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

a lot of fans misunderstand the full effects of Press Virginia...it is not just about the turnovers....it is about right now, the last 30% of the game, and how much it often wears down the opponent. In reality, your press the first 70% of the game, but the big return often comes in the final 30% of game. Gonzaga is tough, but a WVU fan has to be pleased at where the game is right now....might even say WVU has them right where they want them. |

Yep. Could've been Duke-UNC as well (if Duke didn't lose obviously) |

It makes every offensive possession high stress for the opponent.
You have to be mentally and physically tough to be able to deal with it. it is a great coaching style in college with the shorter game. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

It's especially tough on a slower paced team. When you're used to getting in to your offense with 25 on the shot clock and all of a sudden you're barely getting the ball across half court and not getting in to your offense until 17 or 18 on the shot clock, it can really throw you off. |

Chris Webber was right. The play was obvious, I could call it from here in 15 seconds. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

WVU's biggest mistake was relying on the 3 once they had a couple players with 4 fouls....they should have got Matthews fouled out of the game around the 8 minutes mark....it came back to bite them.
Once WVU went up by 3 with less than 2 minutes to go, that was a cheap ass call on Phillip...it was called by the same ref whose whistle seem to come alive all night when WVU would take lead...the same ass that claimed "inadvertent whistle".
Finally, I do not know why coaches continue to use all their timeouts in close games.....you absolutely have to have one for final possession....Huggins is too good for that "bush league" move.
Oh well....college basketball season will end for me the way it has since i knew what college basketball was.....in disappointment. |
