‘Gong Show’ Host Chuck Barris Dead At 87

Loved the Gong Show years ago, and he was a great host.

Interestingly enough, the show will soon be making its return.

He was also a highly trained assassin for the CIA.

I always took that one with a grain of salt given his personality. But he certainly was an interesting guy.

Chuck Berry and Chuck Barris? That makes sense.

I read Jerry Krause died the other day. He was the Brian Windhorst of GMs. Looked about the same and got about as much respect. Jordan called him Crumbs because he would have food and/or crumbs on his tie/shirt. He worked for the Lakers as a scout of sorts. Iirc, the lore is that he tried to convince Jack Kent Cooke to trade everyone save Kareem to get Larry Bird. We still would've had the 1st pick in 79, to boot. Great fantasy. RIP to Barris and Krause. George Barris leans to a crowd with slightly more gray hair than some of us, but I remember Gong Show reruns on some channel in the late 80s to early 90s maybe. I know I watched a few during said run. It was weirdly entertaining.

I was being kind out of respect to the recently deceased.

Chuck Berry and Chuck Barris could be followed by Debbie Harry and Del Harris.
