Quote:
Shanahan first got involved in Howard’s sugar intervention when his addiction caused tingling in his legs and hands, which kept him from catching the ball easily. He described the feeling as if his hands were wrapped in oven mitts. Shanahan suspected his sugar intake was causing a nerve dysfunction called dysesthesia.

Is this a (bleep) joke?

You guys laugh but didn't LO have the same problem with a candy addiction? Thats probably why these guys have erratic play at times....they play well when they hit their sugar high but once they crash they look lost out there.

i think that speaks volumes on someone's maturity level. Nothing wrong about having a sweet tooth but kinda childish for a full grown adult to eat THAT much candy

Fitting. Dwight's career has been a real toothache.

I'll just sit back and laugh until the Dwight defenders show up. The guy was and is a joke when it comes to the truly elite of the league. Not enough dedication

While Dwight, might not have been the answer to all the Lakers woes, the fans, the team and the city opened their arms and hearts to this ungrateful turd, I personally hate the guy as much as any of the 80's Celtics.

How many Championships have YOU won Dwight since leaving the Lakers?

I don't typically pay too much attention to him, but anytime I hear anything is going bad for him..... a smile comes to may face..!

How did this guy even have the physique he had if he was eating 5,900 calories of candy per day?...

These are guys in their 20's with high metabolism. They can eat junk like that and get away with it...

Yeah probably a very high metabolism plus a lot of workouts. His problem was and is always between the ears though.

Plus with all the basketball and "extracurricular activities" they burn a ton of calories.

I know a few people that were into bodybuilding and they ate horribly. If they weren't working out constantly they would have probably weighed 1000 lbs.

You can get away with eating a lot of calories when you are younger. Once you get older your body starts to penalize you for your bad eating habits.

More like you don't feel it when you're young but it will come and bite you in the ass when you get older.

Oh, okay. So it's possible to still eating 5,900 calories worth of candy and still have enough room to get all the nutrition you need? Is there really no difference between 5,900 calories of candy and 5,900 of lean protein or vegetables?

This really surprises me. If he was eating pizza and hamburgers he would get a lot more protein.

Maybe he threw in some protein bars lol.

Sounds like he ate that candy in addition to his regular meals.

He wouldn't have noticed it when he was 25, once he was 30, it probably became a boat anchor.
