Zu looked good today, but I missed the first couple min of the 3rd and I didn't see him play at all in the 2nd half. Foul trouble?
Yes foul trouble in the 3rd and we know Luke doesn't play him in the 4th. Was curious to see how he would look vs Gortat, one of the stronger guys in the league. Didn't get pushed around too much. Zu probably should have had made 1 or 2 more baskets.
Ready for the day he earns respect from the refs (and Luke too) _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though."
Hoping Luke commits to playing Zu at least 28 minutes per game these last couple games for a proper evaluation to close out the year.
Do you guys think Zu can be the starting C next year? If we want to win? _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though."

It can be a real possibility if he improves his conditioning something he told is going to be his focus this offseason. Mozgov is a better team defender than him and has more strength to hold position while Zubac is definitely a much better passer and has a good feel for blocks. I believe we are going to move Mozgov alongside young assets because you can't keep trying with 20 win rosters, something has to be done and Zubac emergency makes Mozgov expendable if we take into account Luke's small ball addiction, there is just no way he is going to give 48 minutes just for 7 footers.

I've spoken to this point at length, but I'm backtracking from my hard line argument before. There are lineups with the individually underwhelming Mozgov that were quite good. Add in Zubac and you add more punch offensively. It remains to be seen whether that's outweighed (and if so, by how much) by the marginal difference on defense & on the boards. Sadly there are no numbers for us to do anything but speculate.
My suspicion is that with Zubac we'd be a good deal worse, but the grander point is that it depends on the teammates around him. Great players are effective no matter who's around them. Terrible players suck no matter who's around them. Most guys are in between those two ends, and their teammates partly determine how successful they are. I suspect this will be true for Zubac as a sophomore as it was true for Mozgov this year.

I don't care if he starts or not as long as he gets minutes. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss

I'd like to imagine the Lakers reactivating Moz after shutting down Zu for the season, and finding out Moz went full offseason mode like Pau in this pic
Missed the game but this sucks. I admit I have a weird bias for Zu. I get more excited when he makes a nice play than any of the other young players. As hard as these games have been to watch, Zu made them somewhat interesting to me. Damn.

Maybe not to that extreme but quite possibly this:

Wow, when was that picture taken? He looks close to 20% body fat. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Not sure. I think 2013, but it may have been 2011.
