I lived in Palms during my college years. Cheviot Hills is the definition of Location Location Location! The homes are beautiful, but you're not isolated. You're literally a stone's throw from pretty much everything LA.
Yeah, my favorite part is I don't feel like I live right in the middle of a big city like LA, yet I am totally, centrally located to just about everything.
100% this. You have the best of both worlds. _________________ KOBE

Worst commute was from Redondo Beach to the San Fernando Valley that one Saturday a few weeks ago when we got hit by that nasty storm. Two long hours.
What I don't get is what happened to that period of calm between morning and evening rush hour traffic. Seems like rush hour is constant from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Friggin crazy. _________________ Lakers. Built different.

Definitely making good time there, especially when it turns into a reverse slalom course as cars and trucks start struggling up the hill.
As I said, it takes some creative driving, but it adds some excitement to the commute.
Anyone remember the 80's arcade game "Pole Position"?
I grew up in LA, I played it real life on the freeways from Age 16 on....
That's definitely the LA driving experience for many of us. In my teens, my friends and I were into watching road racing and drove like it. We didn't engage in the street racing people know today, but we drove in the canyons and up on Mulholland and caught the end of the glory days of late night racing between Beverly Glenn and Laurel Canyon. By the time I was 21 or so, I had 3 different jobs as a driver, so getting from point A to point B as fast as possible has just become an inescapable habit for me. I've made a game of seeing how many minutes I can beat the Waze prediction by during my commute. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Nah. In fact, freeway driving is generally the safest. Most freeway collisions don't result in injury. They involve cars going in the same direction and it's mostly fender-benders in stop and go traffic. Most of the really bad accidents happen on the streets at intersections or involve head on collisions. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

What if someone changes lanes without signaling? Wouldn't the greater speed result in greater injury? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Not likely because such a collision still involves two vehicles moving the same direction. Even in the worst case scenario where a car jumps into your lane and slams on its brakes, it's a rear-ender where the frame of the cars and the airbags do their jobs. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Juzt get up to the prevailing speed and you will be fine. And don't switch lanes a lot, leave that up to us professionals! _________________ Love, Laker Lanny
