Anyone know anything about the site? The name GIZMODO has a quirky ring. If it's creditable this is not a good sign.

Unlike Air Jordan vs Ground Jordan, I don't know if we can determine which style is more lethally effective until a number of cases of either type are actually on the scoreboard. The Dallas shooter is the only legit example of either type we can point to, and it was successful, but insofar as Micah Xavier Johnson, he had already killed numerous cops and thus was a proven threat to shoot more and he was isolated (no risk of collateral damage if you blew him up). Maybe the circumstances of a standoff are more important than having either option theoretically available. I wouldn't liken law enforcement drones to military style drones if all they're referring to are radio controlled small drones with explosives attached to them a la the Dallas rover.

Although I can sympathize with the need, I worry a lot about crossing this line. They are saying only in extreme circumstance, but so many things were supposed to be the exception and ended up in the mainstream. This could be a very bad idea in the long run.

Well, a lot of new tech trickles down from the military. After all the drone usage in the Middle East it only seemed a matter of time before it arrived on our shores.

The cops have drones. Maybe the bad guys will have drones too!? If this drone thing really takes off it could be a whole new level of fear we have to deal with in daily life.

Pretty soon these machines will become self aware and figure out to eliminate all humans like in Terminator.

Yes, I am not sure we need to increase the killing percentage by going to aerial strikes and I am somewhat conservative. Yes, really!

What is next, giving Charlie Beck limited nuclear strike capabilities in the event of civil unrest?

yes to the bolded. yes its extreme but yes. something along those lines. and yes it will be due to civil unrest. i say this because you have to pay attention to what your current president has been pushing for when it comes to law enforcement/military. He wants a police state like situation. Why? Because he's an ultra rich guy that was born that way. While he is also known for cheating people out of their money(trump univ., other lawsuits, etc.) He doesn't want anyone to be able to physically get at him about his incorrect behavior. This is to protect other people just like him. not regulars like the rest of us. think about other foreign regimes. where they run the military/police for the most part to keep the people away from the throne so to speak. Thats what happens when you know you're effing up but dont care. you have to buy protection from the masses.

It may be legitimate but is it credible? Ted Cruz is the owner.
