Why does it seem like every DLeague team plays in a gymnasium that is at least befitting a small college, but the Defenders look like they are playing @ Bayside High in El Segundo.....keep looking for Screech setting in the crowd when they are @ home.

Won't be too bad once they move to UCLA Health Center, but agree the current location isn't really good enough for DL.

I see Santa Cruz games and they have a rocking crowd.

D-Fenders Finish Regular Season With Overtime Triumph

Quote:
With the final game of the regular season on the line, the D-Fenders simply fed the ball to the scorer who had shouldered the offense all year. Los Angeles shot just 1-of-7 in overtime, but it got the lone bucket from Vander Blue, who also drew a key foul with only 8.9 seconds left and his team down by one.

Blue — the D-League’s third-leading scorer — kept his cool and swished both free throws to hand the D-Fenders a 109-108 victory over Salt Lake City heading into the postseason.

Jabari Brown looking impressive:

Seems like he's extended his range. Of course that's probably a function of his parent team. Looks more athletic than before. He's also making plays for others, which I haven't seen before. Curious to see where he goes from here. I think he belongs in the NBA.

I watched the 4th quarter and OT, the Defenders had a nice lead in OT that vanished quickly. Their lack of rebounding did them in.

Harper and Wear are our best rebounders but neither dominated the glass.
We got out-rebounded 41-25. Onuaku had 18 rebs for the Vipers.

* Jeff Ayers, by far our best rebounder during the regular season, signed a nice contract and headed to China last month. We really needed him last night.

Full schedule and bracket

Next two games are in LA. Format is 1-2, w/ 2 games going to the team with the better record.

If eliminated, could be Nwaba's final game w/ the d-fenders. I doubt they send him back, as he's a tier or two above his competition.

That alley oop at 1:13.
