Ennis admits being motivated by teams that overlooked him
We got ourselves another one Let's make sure he stays a Laker.
It will require him agreeing to a piss poor deal b/c the Rox didn't pick up his option so we are limited in what we can offer. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

I don't think Ennis will get a ton of huge offers from other teams. I think that outside of the Laker fan base not too many people know about him. We will see! _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss

I think someone will offer more than $2.6 Million....he is too young, and a lot of teams would gladly spend $4 million on a 3rd string PG....only other option is he sign a 1+1 with player option with Lakers hoping to get market value next summer if he thinks he will have more opportunity to play with Lakers.

If he gets a 3m/year offer, we can't even beat that. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

I know- I am hoping that Ennis gives us a home team discount- what can we offer him, vet minimum? _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss

Why would he give a home team discount? He's been here for what a month and a half? He should get a long-term deal that offers the most money. He can't afford to give discounts given his sporadic and nomadic career. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

2.6M. I agree with whoever just said I dont think it will much of a market for Ennis. Reminds me of Seth Curry kind of from last year when he finished the year strong (or our very own TRob) _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' You have very valid points, what is the max we can offer him?
I am just thinking if we can offer him what $1.8 mil per year and another team offers him $3 mil, but no guarantee of playing time of fitting in with his coach, he might choose to stay with the team where he finally found his NBA footing.
Sure he could potentially sign a larger deal, but might be stuck on the bench again. He might be tired of moving around to different teams. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss
We could offer a 1+1 with a wink if it came down to it. That might be enough if he likes it here.
Watching him in every game, he needs a consistent J and a bit more help-D to manifest his stay in the league. His feel and ability to fiind alleys and drive is decent. He is calm an confident running the offense for someone who has not been in the system very long (and has not played much in his career.)

He's already played on 4 teams in 3 NBA seasons so he should know everyone's plays. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

He is a dinosaur. An actual pass first point guard! Not too many of those left these days, it would be wild for him and Ball to be on the same team.
If the kid has a work ethic he can improve the 3 pointer and he would be a pretty darn good back up PG. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss

Like TRob (an even higher draft pick), I'm not sure what is most important to them. Being in the same place (stability) or most $/years (another kind of stability). I would think the latter is more important to them. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Kudos to Ennis for passing Ingram the ball prior to the dunk sequence:
I thought that was the most notable sequence of the game. Ingram wasn't demanding it, but Ennis gave it up anyways (Tarik wasn't sure what the playcall was). In most cases, a player tries to go one-on-one when the clock winds down like that (AKA Byron-ball or pre-Lou Williams trade).

I'm not sure I see teams looking to sign the third string for 4 mil. Generally third stringers are minimum guys, rookie contract guys, or overpaid because they were signed to be a higher level player. If teams think he's a second string guy, THEN we have a problem. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. I told y'all that Ennis is like an extra draft pick for us. This guy is solid and is still so young. He has lots of upside. I hope we sign him for next season. We need a back up PG.
It's really not like an extra draft pick. He's an unrestricted free agent this summer.
So we spent time developing this guy and risked two picks so this guy can get money from another team ?!? _________________ Llluuukkkeee

Then we can finally try out Magette. _________________ .
