Lakers will go to draft lottery with 46.9% chance of keeping their 2017 and 2019 1st-round picks (and 53.1% chance they'll go to PHI + ORL). |
Sigh..... let's just pray that we luck out and get to keep our pick so that we can finally put this tank era behind us.
If we lose this pick Luke Walton and his arrogance and stupidity is going to be held in serious contempt by lakers fans |
You are right.
Let's hope that everything works out for the Lakers on the lottery day. Otherwise it is going to be pretty ugly. |
So lame that the organization gets a pass if we happen to keep the pick. It's just water under the bridge, right? I have a feeling we keep it but even if we do this "win streak" should be a strike against new management imo.
I really don't like the new front office or how the old one went out but I'm hoping they do well because if not us fans are the ones who have to suffer from their mistakes.
Also, sitting deng and mosgov only hurts whatever trade value they may or may not have...I don't like that decision either. I feel like they should at least be coming off the bench. What do we do with them for the remainder of their contracts? Sit them out and hope everyone forgets about them?
Honestly confused about what's going on or the direction of the organization right now.
End rant |
If you can distinguish between the process and the results, the direction of the organization is clear: tank as hard as possible, but not completely at the expense of the young guys.
If expected scrubs like Ennis, Nwaba, and Brewer end up winning you games... what are you going to do? |
Tank harder like the Suns.
Like I said, everything will be fine if we end in the top three. However, if the Suns ends up in the top three and we fall out, the media and fans alike will point out how worthless that winning streak was.
The Lakers need the pick to improve and to get more assets.
If we do not get that pick, it will hurt Lakers. More importantly, the Suns will improve their team while we will not have the benefit of getting a new player. |

They have two legitimate franchise changing talents in Simmons and Embiid (Lakers are still looking for one), have a great amount of prospects and assets and have a higher chance of getting this year's pick than we have keeping it.
It all depends on the lottery but the Sixers have a chance to add two top-5 talents in a deep class to their already superior core. We'll see if you're still laughing at them if a single team leapfrogs us in the lottery. |

You realize the guy who set all that in motion no longer works there, right ?
And that Philly fans hate the new FO ?
Which part of the organization are you referring to exactly ? |

I had to take a second glance to see if you were even serious.....
Simmons? who has not even stepped on a NBA court yet due to injury....Imbiid....injured as well.....meanwhile the lakers got BI with a whole season worth of experience who didnt even look like the same player from game one to end of year due to his progression?...is this a serious comment from you or are you just throwing out the hook to see what you will catch from it. |

I will laugh at them because of the bad choices they have made, it has nothing to do with the Lakers. Embiid could be good if he could play, but his career has been one bad decision by the 76ers. Okafor was a bad decision as well. As for Simmons, we will see what he can do if he can ever suit up in the NBA. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Congratulations to Team Tank for yet another huge year. Well done team.
This was the last time for hopefully a long time. No more incentive to tank.
But all you chicken littles who said we'd automatically lose the pick because of the late season win streak can have fun cheering for the Suns and their 4th pick.
Time for some receipts. |

Maybe the basketball gods will help the Lakers, seeing that they went on to win even though they could have folded... won't be shocked to see us get the #2 pick. |

What would folks have picked if we got 3 #1 picks?
KAT
Simmons or Ingram? (I think Lakers go Simmons)
Fultz or Ball? (I could see Lakers going with Ball). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

easy fix, all 30 teams have a 1/30 chance to get a top 3 picks, after the first 3 picks are selected then teams pick in order they finished and no more protections on picks if you trade a 1st you trade a 1st period |

I think the Lakers still choose Ball over Fultz. |
