I'm sure if he was white he would've been treated the same
Is jaywalking really a crime worth stopping your police car for
I can understand if on a very busy street but this looked residential.. no wonder dude was pissed off at the cop for harassing him
Man, I saw this video of a police officer in Ohio kick some cat in the head when he was cuffed to the ground and nonresistant. (bleep) is bananas. _________________ Music is my medicine

But if only he had not been jaywalking, none of this would have ever happened! _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Did you take note of the area. How can you jaywalk in a residential area? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
Another example of how cops are poorly trained to de-escalate situations. The guy removes his jacket in a "lets fight" manner and instead of trying to talk tensions down he attacks him head on. Cop is lucky he wasn't killed himself and obviously so is the "jaywalker".

we dont even know if he removed his jacket in a "lets fight" manner. Thats what the cop is saying. The video shows him remove his jacket. we dont know why? we dont know if the officer asked him too or if the officer said "do you have anything on you? any weapons? The guy could've been upset and said "no i dont have anything on me. SEE..SEE...takes off jacket.."
we have no idea why he took that jacket off unless we can get another angle with audio.
An update to the story. Pretty darn serious offense . . . crossing the street at an intersection.
Quote:
Pedestrian advocates say a Del Paso Heights man legally crossed the street before a police officer stopped him for jaywalking and repeatedly punched him in the face.

Although Cypress Street does not have a marked crosswalk across Grand Avenue, the path Cain took is legally an “unmarked crosswalk,” Kumar said. The California Vehicle Code defines a legal crosswalk as an intersection of streets where pedestrian access – such as a sidewalk – continues on both sides of the road, he explained.
The dash cam of this serious offense is included in the article.

To be fair, it's a felony to jaywalk while black.
You can be black or you can jaywalk, but you can't have both. Pick one and save the police the hassle.
Are you sure about that? I am beginning to wonder. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

It depends on the officer you encounter during the course of your day. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Pedestrian advocates? That's a thing in California? Is their theme song "Walk Like a Man"? Or the feminist version, "These Boots Were Made for Walking"? Or the Muslim version, "Walk Like an Egyptian"?
