why were they so unattractive? I was busy with life the last couple of years so I missed the drama

We were a bottom 2 team with a fractured FO and no optimism on the horizon.

Considering just how bad the previous office was, it's great to see such quick results to the initial decisions of the new guys.

Call it what you want but IMO this new atmosphere is the energy from people who actually care about the brand and the game. Whether decisions are good or bad, their hearts are in it.

Again, people need to realize what we watched for the last few years was a guy focused on avoiding bankruptcy by selling off a stake.

(and no i don't mind repeating that considering the number of digs the new office has received on a FAN forum!)

So the new regime does exactly as the old did and it is better? Bias much?

Sorry but receiving the #2 pick is already a very different result then Jim was after.

I don't believe they signed moz to bench him. I don't believe they were shopping lou.

Jim was after an improvement gap in wins large enough to save his hide.

and we're not even looking at the atmosphere/culture they're developing which Jim was miserable at.

Mike Brown almost got arrested for feelin himself a bit too much. Jim got fired. Both of them should have realized their place and done what was needed in general.

End of the day his game-of-thrones plan was obviously terrible and even bigger insight into his abilities and intentions.

We were on the same path to this #2 pick at the time Jim was fired. Pelinka and Magic have been a positive force so far and are building momentum, but to say they have done anything thus far in terms of player acquisition or on the floor product is just unfounded.

The Lou trade helped getting us a pick and solidified a better chance to suck even a little more. Perception alone means a ton. The family infighting narrative being gone is a relief. But agree. They are on the clock

The Lou trade would have happened regardless. That was set up before Magic took over.

Lakers Notes: FA Priorities, Nwaba, Ball

Quote:
Speaking to the media, including Mark Medina of the Orange County Register, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka said that the Lakers were relentless on the draft day trade market and even spoke with the Pacers about a possible Paul George deal.

I just watched the KCP presser. Am I the only one that finds Pelinka's "stories" incredibly cheesy? I'm kind of over them already, like, does he have to tell one every time he gets on the mic?

That's all, thanks.

Maybe he's auditioning for Kobe's film business as a scriptwriter. Yea, sometimes he's cheesy. I liked his Lavar Ball story when they went to Ball house for 2nd workout.

Lol. He also always makes it a point to say he is a story teller.

Renaissance man: GM Rob Pelinka, Kobe's former agent, is trying to revitalize the Lakers
Quote:
If you didn’t know Rob Pelinka was one of the most important people in this post-Kobe Bryant Lakers era, the yin to Magic Johnson’s yang in the front office overhauled by owner Jeanie Buss in February, you might mistake him for one of those well-to-do fans who watches from his front row seat at Staples Center.

Whatever decisions Magic and Pelinka have made. I think its pretty much beyond question that the 2 rookies they have drafted have been nothing short of awesome.

Lonzo - still has issues to work out - but youngest player to hit a triple double since Lebron

Then all the way at the end of the draft.

They get freaking Kuz who did his best mamba impression today against the top team in the West!

PS: oh yeah there's josh hart and thomas bryant too

The team still has a long way to go but I feel it like the old days with nick the quick and eddie again
