About 51% from the field, and 38% from three. You mind doing some research before you talk out of your ass?

lol you should do your research before you call out other posters. It's well known that his weakness is shooting. He is shooting 20% on off the dribble mid range shots, that is horrific. 28% on attempts in pick and roll and iso situations.

If you actually watch one of his games you would know that defender will sag off of him. Right now a lot of analysts agree that he can not shoot from the NBA 3.

Justise Winslow shot 42% from 3 when he was at Duke on more attempts than Jackson. He shot 19% this past season from 3.

Not to mention Jackson is shooting 56% on his free throws.

I could not agree more. and I think he could play SG. we need DEFENSE on this team! if Jackson shoots well in his workout, I don't see why we wouldn't take him.

He's Marvin Williams v2.0, only with character issues.

I believe it's in our best interest to draft Josh Jackson! Reason being Davia Nwaba & Tyler Ennis showed promise in Luke's system, we have a nice 4 guard rotation with Clarkson also. Get rid if Swaggy or make him sixth man again.

The problem is like other posters have said we lack athletic front court players & defenders, Ingram & Jackson would be a nice building block with Randle & Zubac playing the 5 spot.

Jackson surely needs to improve his jumper, but Ball's release is only good for open shots & Ball does seem like a Jason Kidd player where Jackson gives us another defender if we don't get PG13 whenever? I would not be disappointed if we added Jackson even with a trade down to #3 pick?

I just want to see DLO & Ingram play together for at least another year to see what they both can do, if we do take Ball, then that certainly give DLO the green light to throw up more shots at SG. Ingram should be much better next year & I expect him to flourish with the 3 ball also...

Lakers need a PG that is a PLAYMAKER, someone who can average 6=10apg.

They don't have one, so unless they can sign CP3, BALL is the answer...

We don't need a 6-10 apg player. There hasn't been one on the championship team for over a decade

Our assists will come from having all around passers in every spot, including Randle, Ingram, Zubac, and if we draft him - Jackson

This is a repost on the Draft Thread over at the LA Lakers Lounge section, but I'll post it here too. Maybe they'll move thread over soon.

So today Brian Windhorst said on the SAS Podcast that the Lakers are sending Vibes that they really like Josh Jackson. Windhorst said that he doesn't know if it is for trade purposes or just to get their fanbase ready for the disappointment of not drafting Ball, but he said the vibes are out there.

If any one cares to listen, it's 12 mins in if the second hour of the SAS podcast.

Interesting. Haven't seen any written articles picking this up yet. I'll see if I can track down the podcast.

Ok so I listened. Windhorsts answer wasn't even a direct response to a question (re Lavar Ball) instead he just went on a Jackson discussion.

Thing is I've seen nothing written to support "vibes" sent out by lakers of some specific great interest in Jackson...aside from captain obvious only other guy I've seen an article of lakers giving a "hard look" into is fox. For whatever that's worth.

So what you're saying is to play D'angelo as many minutes as other starting point guards?

Yeah and THAT"S the problem! Our starting PG averaged 4.8 apg, which ranked him 25th in the NBA! The Lakers need a PG who can hit the open man for a high percentage shot, not a PG that dribbles in down the court and waits for the the other four guys to get down there so they can pass the ball around until there is 4 seconds left and then lunch a desperation shot - this is exactly why the Lakers shoot a low percentage overall...

Dude in terms of shooters around our PG - we're probably 30th in the league in talent there. You need players who can shoot............to get assists. 5 assists without that, is actually impressive, no doubt

Because of the willful blindless, I'll spell it out for you. If he got as many minutes as other starting guards, he'd be at 6 assists per game. He had more assists per minute than Damian Lillard, who played with better shooters, including stretch bigs.

Can we put this back into the main forums since it's been reported to be a 50/50 spilt in our front office between Jackson and ball

We definitely must revive this thread. I know Ball and Fultz are the consensus almost everywhere but there is talk that Josh Jackson could be the pick. I mean, i would love Ball but with the talk of intensity, defense, that kobe mindset, i think Josh Jackson is the closest. From day 1 I think his intensity rises everyone's awareness. The closer we get to the draft, I find myself drifting and liking his corner more and more.

Magic and the Lakers talk a lot about Ball and I am starting to believe it may be a smoke screen. It's Magic right? He puts his emotions on his sleeve right? However, we may just be buying into the dumb card and everyone is falling for it. He is a successful business guy for a reason.

Then there are rumors surfacing that Ball isn't the guy and while Ball fits perfectly with our offense, he doesn't strike me as the guy who will come in and command the leadership role or make guys accountable. Also, while Lavar is too out spoken, Lonzo is the polar opposite.

Up until last weekend, I always thought Ball or Fultz but watching Josh Jackson reminds me just how good he is and wants to be. Listening into Pelinka and Magic, seems like he fills those traits.
