He's closer to his Marc Gasol destiny.

Folks keep underestimating Zu.

Pre-NBA Sabonis is his floor, he is going to be a more skilled offensive player than Mark could ever dream about.

Mark is a defensive monster while Zubac is clearly a scorer with very good knack for blocks.

He should bust through the locker room doors and say: "I am the captain now." Btw, i'm looking forward to him shooting 90% from 3.

No one would understand what Zub is saying with his thick accent in the heat of the battle.

Zub: "I said ice..."
Nance: "I thought you said run "slice".
DLO: "naw I heard run "thrice."

All of Zubac's blocks this season:

I don't think I've ever heard this said about a player, and we've always noted his soft hands on offense but watching this video I notice that Zubac also has soft hands on defense and I see that as a good thing. Less Dwight or Whiteside-esque spike-out-of-bounds blocks and more Duncan or Bill Russell-esque blocks that stay inbounds, get possession, and can spark a fast break.

Zubac shooting threes is a game changer. As much as we talk about him not being a modern center defensively, he's shaping up to be an ideal modern center offensively. He setts great screens, has great hands, he's a very good finisher, has a high IQ, and now potentially 3 point range. That's everything you could ask for offensively.

Great rookie year numbers: 16.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.0 blocks per 36 on 53% shooting. This guy is going to be an elite offensive center sooner rather than later. Let's see how much he can improve that defense. He should be watching Marc Gasol film everyday. If he can get close to Gasol defensively, we're in great shape.

He is a very good shot blocker, his blocking rate is elite for someone his age and has room to improve. You can take notice that there is just a couple of blocks with his left hand. It is really easy to address and improving his conditioning and hitting the weights his leaping ability should also improve.

he definitely got alot slimmer throughout the season. hope he keeps it up and be more conditioned next season. maybe if he's more conditioned he could keep up guarding pnr. hard hedge + recover may took him a lot in terms of conditioning.

"his floor" ? Sabonis pre-NBA, before injuries, was a great great player. We should be thankfull if it's his ceiling, not his floor...

Sabonis was not just a great player, he was the best FIBA center ever. Sabonis and Hakeem are two players David Robinson will never forget.

I try to be positive about Zubac

Team Building might take a hit if the Lakers draft a Center with the 28th pick meaning Black is the odd man out.

One thing not slimmed down are those tree trunk legs Zubac has. Dude has Yao Ming sequoia calves.

Let's take it one step at a time. I'd be thrilled if he could reach Bynum's prime levels.

Id like to see him either attack quickly and put up a shot or pass it to a cutter or corner for 3. Either way, id like him to make a quick decisions with the ball. If he can do that, it could help him stay on the floor. I like his touch and his versatility scoring the basketball. Hopefully, he is doing drills to help him move his feet better defensively, also learning to take better angles. It would be great if Luke made defense the main development goal. Gotta get these kids believing in defense, so when their struggling on offense, they can still help the team.

So apparently our boy Zu is bored in LA. Not because he doesn't like it here, but because he felt like he seen it all already. He had a funny 13 min interview on Thompson & Trudell today.
