Not a fan of Magic saying this in public.
Ingram was a rookie who hasn't proved much of anything yet last season. It's not like Magic was talking about Kobe Bryant in '04 or something.
I can understand if Magic did this to maybe boost Ingram's confidence, but I doubt it because Magic always comes across as someone who just says whatever comes to mind and he just candidly answered that question without giving himself enough time to think about it. But it's really bad if it did the opposite to Ingram and put way too much pressure on him that he needs to make a huge leap in only his 2nd year and rushes his development to perform now. May have also indirectly placed some jealousy among his other younger teammates who may have done more than Ingram in their their rookie seasons.

Actually it was 97 for 201, I typed in 210 in my original post, it was actually 201 shot attempts in those last 17 games..... 
11 for 37 from 3 point land. 30%. But you have to "think" this will go up quite a bit much sooner than later.... |
