Article from his site...

Quote:
“From his time in college at Duke University until now, Gunnar has pursued excellence in training and fitness,” said General Manager Rob Pelinka. “Gunnar is a true pioneer and visionary at his craft, and will bring a new mentality to our weight room which we are all very excited about. Since Magic and I have worked with Gunnar in the past, we have a strong relationship with him, which makes working together now feel seamless.”

Prior to joining the Lakers, Peterson was a personal trainer for some of the top entertainers and athletes in the world. A 28-year veteran of the fitness industry, Peterson has worked with athletes from the NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, USTA, boxing and various NCAA sports.

with a bit of hindsight now; the issue was likely that the young core weren't pushed from day1 to get as close to their physical best/career physical form within their rookie contract.

the last guy seemed to be about "not rushing" things.

Gunnar seems to be about balancing the required results within the timeframe given.

Looks like the Lakers are all gonna have their "Revenge" bodies next year.

Fitting tbh. Since that's our goal against the rest of the NBA and ESPN

GUNNAR PETERSON LAYS OUT GYM PLAN FOR 'NEW LAKERS'

Quote:
"The new Lakers will be very different from what people are expecting."

He also has BIG hopes for Lakers star Brandon Ingram -- saying he's followed BG's career from Duke and claims the guy is a "special athlete."
"I'm gonna make sure he upholds the standard that I know he's capable of."
