Are you a GM? How do you know that? Byron was a good coach when surrounded with star players (ie PG13, Kidd) horrible with new wave players that need their ego's massaged (Kyrie , Russell). He was the wrong coach for a young squad, and the only purpose of hiring him was to appease Kobe. Bad choice as they could have used anyone but decided to give fans false hopes using the name of a once loved star and pairing him with one that was about to go. I'm so glad Jimbo and Mitch are gone, thanks to their decisions they have regressed this team by 10 years.
You consider asking your team if they've ever been in a fist fight (instead of making real X's and O's adjustments) good coaching?
That sort of thing illustrates everything that was wrong with Byron. I still think a reasonable case could be made numbers wise that he was the worst coach in NBA history. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. That is good to hear, a new FO can't turn things around in one offseason. Adding a player like Ball and continued development from the young players should buy them time with the fans. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
Kinda off topic, but NYK released Josh Longstaff, a player development coach who was close to Porzingis, and was also a PD coach in OKC from 2010-2014.
Would love to add him to the Lakers Player Development staff and think he can be more beneficial to the young than Madsen.

It’s rare for a team that finished 41 games out of the top spot in its conference to have an air of optimism surrounding the organization. One of the league’s storied franchises has hit hard times lately but the Los Angeles Lakers headed into the offseason with some real hope for a turnaround.
