Per a source, #Lakers are not just "open-minded" to trading Jordan Clarkson, as has been reported, but are actively seeking out offers.

Man, I like JC...

Looks like Magic is clearing the guard log jam? then we keeping Nwaba, T.Ennis and drafting Ball? can we expect a tall wing/SF to back up BI... which SF makes around $12.5mil/yr?

Great news! Trading JC and Randle has been at the top of my list for this offseason. As I've said, Ennis will cost a fraction of JC and is a better fit, even though not as talented.

Why? He's not a superstar but we'd have a potentially awesome 3 guard rotation with Ball, DLO, and JC. Is there a better replacement out there?

With that being said, I'd be intrigued with getting Hezonja and a 2nd rounder for him

At some point, JC became too Hollywood. I blame it on Nick Young's influence

Well I can see why. JC really isn't a "Magic" player. Low IQ, doesn't like passing, can't defend, hasn't shown much improvement since his rookie year. What he does well is scoring, and our team has proven to be able to do that regardless. So this makes sense.

What log jam? JC accepted his role coming off the bench and he's the last guy left on the roster who can consistently attack the paint off the dribble.

Makes sense. Just wouldn't make sense to add another guard that would garner a ton of PT and keep Jordan Clarkson around. What I'd like to really see is D'Angelo Russell and either Markelle Fultz, or Lonzo Ball get 30+ mpg.

Also long term, if you're looking to add a PG13 onto the roster one of the guards have to be moved.

For that 12.5m/year, I would like 2 players. If we could get Ian Clark/Justin Holiday for about the same amount, would be fine. Both are familiar with Luke's style of play.

Or, you can just look for an expiring deal, though the question becomes who replaces JC's output?

Wat. The Lakers should be able to get a first round pick for Clarkson or trade for a young player who was a first round pick.

Players like him aren't the hardest to find(over a few summers) And we could use a salary dump for next summer
He's simply the asset we're least attatched too, so he's the peice in any different type of upgrade

makes sense if plan is to draft Ball and play him and DLO 35mins a night with Ennis and Nwaba being the backups getting 13 mins a night and trading him means dumping Deng with him

Even if you could get a first for him, dengs contract is a negative.

If you can't get that then try and get Wiz to take him. They need bench scoring. A 22 pick is good too.

I'm just guessing that if they keep Nwaba, T.Ennis, still has Brewer, still has DLo, draft Ball... maybe Magic wants to flip JC for a bigger wing

Not sure they have the cap space.

JC's 12.5m deal is one of the largest ones for a bench guard. I think that is possibly factoring in.

Hmm don't see any lotto teams giving up their pick for JC. Maybe one of the playoff squads from 18-25 might be interested.

If we can get pick 22 (for instance), I'd jump all over it and look to trade up with the 28 pick or trade one of them for a future pick.

He's th only contract you can reasonably clear without giving up assets to do so.
