I could see Lebron joining the Warriors before he'd join the Lakers. Play for a tiny contract (I mean, money shouldn't be an object for him any more.) and win 3-4 more rings.

BTW, that would be hysterical if he joined the Warriors. Especially after all the whining about KD joining superteams.

$27 M. per to the big 3, if someone needs to take slightly less LeBron would happily do so much $$ coming from other places.....

Woah, how did boogie get in on this?

I think he would go to the Clippers to play with Paul before he goes to the Lakers. Don't think the Lakers really have anything to offer him.

It's not as far-fetched as it may seem on the surface. LeBron's goal is to own an NBA team. Who better to learn the business side of the NBA than, Magic Johnson?

Chris Paul is on a en route to joining the Spurs once that happens Griffin will go to Miami or Boston, Lakers are in position to become better then the Clippers, LeBron isn't gonna go to a team that will have no pieces.

I disagree- the Clips are yesterday's news, similar to the Cavs in that they are capped out and have an expensive aging roster with no real way to improve short of blowing it up and going into rebuild mode.

Fast forward to 2018 the Lakers will have another year of internal development for the youth and Luke. They will likely have PG13 and the most exciting PG prospect in the league in Ball.

IMO seems more exciting to me that the Clips.

Well he brought a chip there. I totally could see him leaving now. But off course why would he come to the Lakers. That I don't get.

House resides in LA
His kids enroll a school in LA
Business is likely in LA
His post-dream job of being a actor and a entertainer will be here in LA

Yup, many reasons. Plus he loves warm weather cities like LA and Miami. Lebron isn't a dumb guy, he sees that this team has young up and coming talent (or trade chips) and a guy like PG13 coming as well possibly. However, getting rid of Deng and Moz would definitely be needed to bring LBJ over and that would require giving up assets. It's a pipe dream but you never know.

Exactly.

Dude probably wants to become a actor and even though he can still do it with the Cavs or some place else, the Lakers and its popularity will bring him to new heights as far as endorsements and jersey sells.

He's coming to the lakers because he wants to become an actor ? Are you serious with this stuff 2.0 ?

Nevermind, you are.

Being a actor willl be a reason for him to come here, I did not suggest that is the reason. There is many things to do in LA and is the entertainment capital, he can do sells and marketing here as well as joining a team that already be close to contention.

The next dynasty in the NBA will look like this (in year 4 or 5)

Lonzo/Lamelo
DLO/Liangelo
Ingram/PG13
Lebron/Randle
Cousins/Zubac

Starting in 2018, we'll rule the NBA for at least a decade!

Theoretically, if they trade Julius, Clarkson, Mozgov, and Deng....and DMC is a free agent in 2018....he would be able to give us a competitive edge inside vs GSW........

They would have $25 million of $103 million cap committed to....

Lonzo
D'Angelo
LNJ
Zubac
Ingram

$25-27 million each to DMC, LBJ, PG13 or LBJ might take a little less to appease the others....

MLE to an Afflalo or Ariza type....

Naw. He's been an alpha dog for too long. He'll likely play the Wizards Jordan role if he came here.

LeBron will be a elite athlete up until his late 30's. Jordan was on his last legs with the Wizards, people don't realize how durable LeBron is, he can play and make a Impact for another 4-5 years.

There's a reason he stayed out East his entire career. He wants an easy road to the finals every year. He might join Washington.

If CP3 is still there, and he is caring still about rings, the Clippers are the favorites, and the Stern veto continues to screw over the Lakers. If LeBron cares more about establishing a post career business/media empire and recognizes the Laker name has historically meant more than the Clippers, then he comes to the Lakers. This team's chances of getting him would be better if they could have made the first round at least last year and if they do this year.

Given how Lebron likes to conduct himself within an organization the Lakers aren't a viable option.

The Lakers aren't going to give Lebron the level of control he has in Cleveland. I also doubt Leborn would want to play for a franchise where he's likely to be a footnote compared to other players with the franchise.

If Lebron went to the Clippers he'd be allowed to do whatever he wants and he'd easily be the franchises best player in history.

Not without paycuts.

LeBron's going to be worth ~$40M in 2018, not $27M. George around ~$33M. etc.

I'm not the biggest LeBron fan but at this point in his career he's not going to be a footnote to ANYONE, regardless of where he plays.

A Lakers stint to close out his career ala Wilt in which he puts in multiple all-star/all-nba seasons, potentially passes Kareem on the AT scoring list (while wearing the purple & gold), possibly winning a ring, and having his jersey retired one day up with other Laker greats (Kareem, Kobe, Magic, Shaq, Wilt, West, Baylor) would be amazing for his legacy and his global appeal.

Though you bring up a good point about the level of control that LeBron likes to have in a franchise. But this is a new regime. We're not sure how they operate and what concessions they're willing to make to LeBron. Even then I still think LeBron would be less of a diva with the Lakers organization, because it's a different beast with a different lore than the other organizations he's played for which were basically completely beholden to him.
