They would seem to be the favorites. But jeez would that be a bad way to end a career, wearing a Clippers jersey. |
Fwiw, the espn710 morning show guys have a theory on this. They think Lebron would go to the clippers from a legacy perspective. Basically, the following narratives:
"He won with a franchise that's considered a joke around NBA circles"
vs.
"He needed the lakers organization to win, followed in the footsteps of all time greats..." |
I don't buy that one. Lebron doesn't care about creating a legacy for the F'ing Clippers. But he wouldn't want to play for the Lakers either. Not after Kobe. He wants to win in Cleveland. He won't be leaving Cleveland imo. |
Imo he leaves Cleveland but I also don't buy that theory. I think he will go to LA but he will choose clippers or lakers based on roster. 50/50 is my guess.
Opportunistic Lebron will come out west but he will make sure he rides with the roster that he thinks will net him another couple of rings. |

I dunno makes sense to me. Why not. If Lebron is trying to go out as GOAT his best chance would be to come to the west. He could be the only player to win championships for every team hes played for as the no 1 option. Win in both conferences and if you win in LA your status goes up x100. |

If Lebron comes out west, it'll be to the Clippers. I don't, for a second, believe the reasons you guys listed in terms of money and acting as a big reason for him coming to LA. But if they were, why would he come to a bottom of the barrel team like the Lakers when the Clippers are so much closer to winning? |

What Lebron said about Ingram early this season: https://twitter.com/gregbeacham/status/843687877162688512/photo/1
Ya never know...
That being said, if he goes to an LA team, it will be the one with Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. I don't expect him to babysit a bunch of 19-23 year olds, unless Paul George is in the equation. |

So the Clips can sign all 4 in today's cap? |

The only path to getting Bron is that these young players show the F to the point they have tremendous trade value, and then we consolidate those young pieces for win now guys.
Paul George would be a major attractor. |

How many wins does that team get? I still see a few missing parts on that roster |

I could definitely see the incentive for Lebron to join the Lakers instead of the Clippers.
We're talking about a year away. However, if you move Clarkson, Moz & Deng. You would have the max cap space for 2 guys. You could then sign PG-13 with Lebron.
From there, you'll have all the length in Ingram, PG-13, & Lebron and talent to compete with GS.
PG-13 to Kyrie is a lateral move. However, factor instead of Love, Shumpert, JR, TT, Deron & Korver - you get D-Lo, Lonzo, Randle, Zubac, Nance, & Ingram.
Our team could potentially extend his career in a way that I don't believe the past their prime Clippers could. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

I personally love the idea of mercenary LeBron going to random good but not great teams that are capped out and trying to guide them to a ring for the vet minimum. |

Not sure why but all I can envision after reading this is an old cliche moment from a movie.
West on one side, Magic on the other and Lebron in the middle with a confused and indecisive look on his face as both try to lure him to jump in their arms. |

Why would Maverick Carter be meeting with Jeannie Buss?
LeBron is a legacy guy, many all-time HOF players have finished their career with the Lakers.....
CP3 and LBJ are both ball dominant, they both know it would not work from a basketball perspective.... |

Bron is not coming here. Zero chance. Another agent using Lakers as leverage. Who's gonna be his Kyrie or Ray Allen here? We're not a pre-built super-team with three top 20 players nor do we have 8 lottery picks in our roster. Zero chance. _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ |

Lebron coming out West, having to play 50-win quality teams all the time, including the playoffs??

Right, he's 3 for 8 facing one per year. Even Bron fandom know he may not have made 4 even if he played out west. _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ |
