Assuming the Lakers do not trade the #2 pick... I think most would take Fultz, but wanted to see how many would still take Ball or someone else.

I wouldn't have posted this, but nbadraft.net has Jackson going #1 now, so I thought it would be fun to see where LG stands... Honestly, I am a little torn, I think Ball fits the team better playing next to DLo, but at the same time I think you always take the best player, so I would probably go with Fultz.

I'm still team Lonzo. I believe in his ability to greatly improve a team. I have some doubts with Fultz. I think he'd be great on Boston. He can just get buckets there. There would be more to do here.

Tough question. Fultz should be the answer. My rational mind tells me that.

But I find myself thinking Ball is the pick. They are different players that bring different skills to the roster. What Ball adds is not as defined as what Fultz does. And it is causing some to underestimate his overall contributions because of it. Also acknowledge it is very possible I am overestimating his potential!

Yet I feel what Ball provides is what this roster needs to get much better.

Hard to quantify the intangibles of a player but IMO Ball has the edge because of it. I would take Ball and be thrilled to do so.

While I like Lonzo, no question Fultz is the BPA at 1 or 2.

Hmm... good question, and one that has a bit of a chance to actually come about.

I'd take Fultz, but it's not necessarily an easy call.

Imo you have to take fultz. He's the unanimous tier 1 guy, Ball is tier 1 but he's not unanimous. Either is fine, but fultz should go ahead of Ball imo.

I get that people will always tend to gravitate towards the guy they think could be the big time scorer, but while I think Fultz will score more points than Ball, Ball will end up generating more points. Especially if our org is dead set on Ingram, Ball is the guy that can really improve the kinds of looks he gets. Similar to how several Bruins percentages went up when Ball joined the program.

Fultz. Though this is the only scenario in which I might entertain trading DLo for #3 pick and change, to get Fultz/Ball, because that back court is superior to Fultz/DLo IMO. I'd need more then just the #3 pick from 76ers however, possibly including our pick back next year or taking Deng/Moz contract.

Getting the 2 best players in a draft would be extremely good for us moving forward.

I think Magic would still take Ball if Fultz is still there.

Also I think Boston would trade down to get JJ if they want him. I doubt that they want him since they already have Brown, and they need more scoring. Their trade partner will still take Fultz #1.

Lonzo Ball.

Last thing the Lakers need is another shoot first PG. Fultz has BUST written all over him.

Part of the question is the definition of "best player available".

Not as easily separated this year. Much depends on how you prioritize skills. Part of the reason that there is even the question of who is going #1 with a week to go.

We all can appreciate the break your ankles finish at the basket or drop 3s from ridiculous range player. How much value do you place on the glue guy or coach on the floor? Harder to quantify.

IMO Ball increases the IQ of the team. He will help other players get easier shots. He helps reduce turnovers or late shot clock desperation shots. That he potentially can hit 3pt shots is a plus.

That he adds a swagger or identity adds some weight to the scales even though it shouldn't. Building a roster is like putting a puzzle together. I like how Ball fits and how the puzzle looks as it gets completed.

That's how I feel. They are the same player but Fultz is better IMO. Lonzo's vision is what this roster needs and Lonzo can shoot.

Fultz. Teammate percentages went up significantly with him as well. The starting point was just much lower.
