Fultz. Though this is the only scenario in which I might entertain trading DLo for #3 pick and change, to get Fultz/Ball, because that back court is superior to Fultz/DLo IMO. I'd need more then just the #3 pick from 76ers however, possibly including our pick back next year or taking Deng/Moz contract.

Getting the 2 best players in a draft would be extremely good for us moving forward.

Agreed

If Jackson goes #1 I'd trade #2 for #3 and #36. With our picks draft Ball, Bolden, and Hart.

Any GM who drafts for "fit" when adding to a bottom 5 team deserves to be fired. You draft the best player available, we need all the talent we can get.

Bottom 3 team can't draft for better fit.

Lonzo Ball.

Last thing the Lakers need is another shoot first PG. Fultz has BUST written all over him.

I think otherwise.
Ball is the new Fredette.
He'll go 5 to 7, probably 5 as JF to the Sacramento bust champions.

But I find myself thinking Ball is the pick. They are different players that bring different skills to the roster. What Ball adds is not as defined as what Fultz does. Yet I feel what Ball provides is what this roster needs to get much better.

Hard to quantify the intangibles of a player but IMO Ball has the edge because of it. I would take Ball and be thrilled to do so.

I get that people will always tend to gravitate towards the guy they think could be the big time scorer, but while I think Fultz will score more points than Ball, Ball will end up generating more points. Especially if our org is dead set on Ingram, Ball is the guy that can really improve the kinds of looks he gets. Similar to how several Bruins percentages went up when Ball joined the program.

It's tough to imagine turning down the player whose been the consensus #1 pick in the draft for so long but I agree with both of you. I think the Lakers need someone who can help others on the team get theirs as much or more than they need a player who can get his. We just finished an era of that.

most would not take fultz. the reason this poll shows fultz is because this is like poll #20 trying to get a fultz vote. so the fultz lovers will come out and support that idea.

now in the event that zo is not there for us at #2. i'm all in on futlz first , jackson 2nd. close 2nd at that.No. i'm not thinking about fox at all.

exactly.

If fultz was 6'6 doing the same stuff and playing real defense to boot and say his team was at least at .500 at seasons end. or .500 when he was healthy. then I would be all in on fultz.

Lets simplify this.

Lets say as a pg, fultz's ceiling = Kyrie Irving going crazy in the finals today.

and for fun lets say Lonzo is jason kidd with a jumpshot. which is more lik e a 18ppg 10 assist guy while shooting the 3pt at a 40% .

If you had these as the choices and you were the lakers Front office. who would you choose.

so you signed up to let everyone know that Futlz will be a bust?
please explain?

Cause i aint seeing it. Will he be some teams savior? maybe not.

but a bust? Highly unlikely. I dont know of any player coming out of college with that much SKILL(we're not talking athletic ability, length, etc.) that became a bust. Skilled players will last long in the nba barring severe or chronic injuries.

Futlz is HIGHLY SKILLED.

Individual Stats say pick Fultz because he will put up great scoring numbers.

However...

All the Advanced Analytics numbers are saying pick Ball because he will have the most impact on any team.

If I believe in the Lakers young core of Russell, Ingram, Randle, Zubac and all these guys, I pick the player that will help them achieve that.

So I vote...

Ball.

Pick either and trade DLO to Philly for 3 and then take the other.
New backcourt of Ball and Fultz would be epic.
Fultz would score out of the gate. Would not take as long to get up to speed as it took DLO. Still looking at a playoff run in a couple of years with the right free agent(s).

This is a tough year. I think either Jackson, Fultz or Ball would all be a good pick. I think Ball would help our other players the most at this point, but one thing Kobe taught me is that a real strong alpha dog who can score at will and mess with everyone around them is a pretty good thing.

These guys are all so different, they each have their strengths and weaknesses. I will be happy with who ever we get at this point. I just hope that the guy they draft finds a way to combine his talents with the other guys.

And Ball doesn't? Not overly athletic, can't get to the rim, can't draw fouls.

Nothing like several steps backwards. Until the next SNT, when you want to dump Ball and Fultz.
