Paul George shows up next offseason seeing a team that has the #1 pick and a whole bunch of talented lottery players around him. |

We're not trading the pick. We'll pick Fultz if he's available, if not we'll take Ball. 100% |

Yeah it's all smoke. Just posturing in case one of the other top 5 teams decides they're will to do a sweetheart deal. Basically multiple lottery picks and taking on Deng. That's the only kind of deal I'd consider for Lonzo. _________________ “This goes far beyond paychecks” |

Laker brass feels a need to make a splash this offseason either through FA or the draft. Trading the pick for future picks or for lower picks isnt going to do it however prudent that may be. Drafting anyone other than hometown kid Lonzo Ball isnt going to do it either. They will be drafting Ball with the 2nd pick next Thursday. |

My hunch is Ainge will take Fultz if he doesn't get a trade done. I see Phoenix as a target because they must be dreaming of a back court of Lonzo Ball and Booker. They need a pass first PG to go along with tunnel vision Booker. They may draft Ball for Phoenix, Lakers then take Fultz.
If no trade. Fultz 1st, Ball 2nd... my guess. |

Fultz
Ball
Jackson
Isaac
DSJ
Tatum
Fox
How my board would go. I'd be okay trading down for DSJ or Isaac if we got another top tier asset like #10 but I think the safest route is keep 2 and keep who go with who your gut tells you. |

Unless it's a veeery good deal, I wouldn't trade #2. Unlike many here, I believe Fultz and Ball are way ahead of the pack, with Jackson following from some distance. Although I like the potential of some players like DSJ and Monk, I think there's quite a drop after #3.
Fultz and Ball have the potential to be superstars and I don't trade a superstar for 2 All Stars. I'd still take Fultz over Ball in the case Ainge does something stupid.
Anyway, this draft has been fun to watch, but in the end of the day, I think things will happen as expected: Fultz in Foston, Lonzo in LA, JJ in Phila, Tatum in Arizona and Fox playing for the Kings. _________________ .... |

Very skeptical we trade down, but if we do so and Fultz, Ball, and Jackson are all taken, I think we should go with Monk at number four or five. I value him more than I do Fox at this point. Also, we'd probably be much more likely to receive Miami's first round pick than Phoenix's if they end up trading a 2018 first to us and 4 for 2 |

either the new FO is exceptionally loose lipped about their intentions, or they are trying to create smoke screens to cover up how high they are on Ball. I think its the latter. Ball is #1 on their board and they hope Boston doesn't take him. |

After the draft we potentially could have seven players on rookie contracts by this summer. There is no denying that all seven are talented.
But it's hard to imagine a team being highly competitive at this level with so much youth.
Thus, it's fairly obvious that player development is our #1 priority at this point.
The jury is still out on exactly what level of talent each player brings to the table and how the individual pieces fit into Luke's action plan.
The FO and coaching staff must carefully identify and develop each players skillset.
Then a determination has to be made to decide where do they fit on this team in the future or should they be moved for other assets.
Once again only time will tell. |

If lakers could get both Issac and Dennis Smith Jr, I'd think about it.
I think Jr has a lot of talent, he's more of a scoring PG obviously, so we'd have two, but I think d lo and Jr attack differently so it's still a nice compliment.
Issac is more of project, he could start out backing BI at SF but eventually he could move to PF where he'd be a bigger version of BI.
But if they go with either Fultz or Ball I can totally see that as well as they must see them as cut above talents |

Trading down is no use to Lakers at this point.

Well, it's Sunday now and Boston obviously didn't want Ball enough to take him #1. It remains to be seen whether the Lakers want Ball enough to take him #2. |

Trade down for a 2018 first rounder. Whoever we draft at 2 isn't going to turn this team around and lead us to the promised land. With a 2018 first we would be able to trade 2018, 2019 or 2020 firsts. Without it we can only trade 2020. And trading is the only way we can add a star. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

How about Lakers trade Mozgov, Deng, #2 pick
To Nets for:
Brook Lopez
Jeremy Lin
Nets #1 in future, say 2020 or 2021
We get Lin back as a serviceable PG, Lopez expires after this year so his salary is freed up, a future first round pick, and we close out the bad free agent signings. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

If they think Tatum, Jackson, and Ball are equivalent, you do the trade. |

Boston-Philly trade appears done, meaning Fultz will not be on the board at 2.

Fine with either - the FO knows best since they've seen him up close and gotten to know him twice now after countless hours of game tape analysis. Gotta trust whatever they decide to do, for better or worse. |

I agree.
I do wonder though if there would be a way to trade down and still get Ball but that could be dreaming. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
