Where is the "logjam"?
Lakers have Russell, Clarkson and Nwaba currently under contract at the guard position. Suppose Young should be included until he officially opts out. Presumably also adding Ball.
That's it. Thin rotation IMO if Clarkson traded.
If Clarkson is traded to bring in George or similar I understand. For anything else makes little sense to me. A draft pick? Perhaps if they are using the saved salary for another free agent guard?
Please explain the need to move him. |
I feel we need to keep him an evaluate for at least another season. |
I am ready to cut bait on JC. Guy has 4 years of college and now 3 in the NBA and still can't defend a cardboard cutout. Still a poor 3 point shooter. |
If we traded JC I would hope we could package Deng or Moz as part of the deal. |
Maybe at the deadline when a team is desperate and needs a solid scorer off the bench (ala Lou Williams this past season). _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

5 potential landing spots for Jordan Clarkson
Quote: | If the Los Angeles Lakers trade Jordan Clarkson, these are five potential landing spots for the combo guard.
The Los Angeles Lakers have an important offseason ahead of them. They have loaded up on young talent in the past few drafts and will be looking to take some steps forward sooner than later. Los Angeles has the second and 28th picks in the 2017 NBA Draft, so they will be adding even more young pieces to the roster.

Trading Jordan Clarkson would be a huge mistake
Quote: | he latest Lakers news focuses on the potential trading of Jordan Clarkson.
One of the biggest news stories surrounding the Lakers right now is what they’ll do with their young core. Every week, it seems like the team might make a move or hold off.
Above all else, D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle have had their names in the mix. Now it appears that point guard Jordan Clarkson is also being shopped for a potential trade.
While it’s understandable that the front office is wanting to make a splash right away, dealing Clarkson wouldn’t be the best move. Instead, it would be in their best interest to wait until the season actually starts. |

Yes, I am in no hurry to trade him and I do think he still has room for improvement. Who knows, maybe the second consecutive year in the Luke system will do wonders for him. If he played good D, I would not want to trade him at all. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Jordan Clarkson wants to win Sixth Man of the Year if he comes off the bench
He still hopes to start, however.
Quote: | During a chat with Mark Medina of the Southern California News Group, Clarkson sounded like he’s spending his offseason working, and that he’s pretty much ready for whatever happens.
More notably, Clarkson also revealed that he sees himself as more than the career back-up/microwave scorer off the bench many project him to be, admitting to Medina that such a characterization bothers him “a little bit,” although he said he added that he wants to kill it whatever role he ends up in:
“Seeing all that stuff is definitely motivation, to be honest with you,” Clarkson said. “It’s funny because people just talk. It is what it is. It’s part of the game. It’s part of the world now. If I’m going to be a sixth man, I’m going to go for Sixth Man of the Year. If I’m a starter, I’m definitely trying to be a great player either way. If it happens, whatever way it is, I’m going to be great at it.”
Clarkson prefers to start but said he will accept either role without complaint.
“I’m trying to get the best out of my opportunities,” he said. |

I hope it translates onto the court, with how athletic Clarkson is, if he ever finds his niche he can be so valuable for us.
Having a 6'5 athletic beast coming off the bench can really make us much more dangerous. I wasn't a big fan of him last season because I thought his shot would be more improved but if he can get up to the 35% range on his threes look out _________________ “Life is too short. I am not sure when you have all the resources in the world around you....but in college (football), I would lose over 10 lbs. of what I would consider good weight by seasons end. |

Isn't that true for NFL also? I hear players saying that they come into camp about 5 to ten pounds heavier than they should be because they lose weight through camp and the season.
I assume it would be like that for NBA rotation players, but during the season it seems most of the practices in the NBA are few and far between but the NFL has a pretty structured practice schedule because they play once a week and build back up from game day to game day.
What position did you play? |

Jordan Clarkson just tweeted this, does it means he's getting traded? Besides that I also noticed that his twitter handle changed. _________________ I was an atheist, until I knew Kobe.

yep. he even bragged about the 3pt shot being a lot easier. showed some real tenacious defense to start the season. then after about 10 games reverted back to his lazy off ball defense. _________________ The road back to the top... |

Umm, I can see that absolutely happening. We need to get off his contract to have 2 max, so why not get an expiring player who contributes? I don't see Toronto doing this. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
