I hope we don't have to trade Randle or any of our young dudes, but it seems like the writing is on the wall. |
If PG13 is saying he plans on coming to the Lakers it'd be downright stupid to trade Randle for him.
The Lakers would be holding ALL the power in that situation. Even if PG13 is traded somewhere else he's saying he plans on going to the Lakers and WOJ has also reported that PG13 doesn't want the Lakers giving away assets to get him. |

There's a few different scenarios I don't see him leaving. Boston, Miami, or Cleveland. He can be a winner with all those teams, and he could possibly win a Championship with Cleveland. That will take two stars away from us next season. The chances of acquiring Lebron or PG13 would be zero if he went to Cleveland and their team got to the finals again. The time is now. We can't sell the farm for him, but we have to give up something, and that something will probably include Randle. |

The time is not now. The time is next summer. Those teams you mention aren't likely to trade for him and if they do, there's no guarantee he stays with any of them. |

Unless the Pacer want to take a bad deal which i dont they do. Id rather just wait till next offseason and see what happens. No point in trading for a star on their last year of their deal.
What if Paul comes here and doesnt love it as much as he thought he would. Then he would sign with another team in FA 2018. Too much of a risk to trade for unless its average players going out. |

I agree with you that the time for him is next year but if the Cavs trade for him hes not going to leave them. |

Getting sick and tired of this "OMG a player wants to come here in free agency that we could TOTALLY afford... let's trade away some pieces for him!" New York Knicks mentality.
Why the heck do you even feel the need to rush and put Paul George on this team for a one year rental?
FACE THESE FACTS
1) Paul George isn't leading us to beat the Warriors any time in the next 3-4 years
2) Unless we land LeBron we aren't beating the Warriors within the next 3-4 years
3) Paul George isn't even the most vital "piece" you'd need to slow down a team like the Warriors, you'd need a center to take advantage of their lack of size and give you a half court offense while also retaining your ability to run 1-4. That's Cousins, not George.
Fact of the matter is, there's no reason to trade ANYONE for Paul George. ESPECIALLY if his plans are to come in free agency. Just [expletive]ing be patient and do that. What's the point of trading for Paul George? Just to say you have him? Good.. cause once you trade away your core and thus make yourself the essence of the team he wants out of in Indiana you can watch him leave in free agency to the Rockets or Celtics.

If we do that he'll stay for the season till his contract is up and then bolt to Houston right after who can fit him right in and didn't have to get rid of anyone.
YOU DON'T make a one season rental out of Paul George unless you are plannign a variety of other moves that will INSTANTLY make the Lakers contenders. And with the Warriors at the top of the heap that ISN'T happening. That's the reality some fans are gonna have to face. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Teams are typically VERY hesitant to trade players to teams in their own conference.
Also like I said the WOJ has also been saying that PG13 doesn't want the Lakers trading to get him, which means he's dead set on coming here. He has to know the possible trade destinations for him, but he's still putting it out there for the Lakers not ot trade for him.
If the Lakers can dump Deng and send some picks to Indiana for George that'd be fine, but trading any of our young talent for him is just counter productive. |

Also even if there were to be a trade, Randle wouldn't be the guy they'd want. Randle is heading into RFA and they already have Myles Turner and Thaddeus Young. The Pacers would most likely be asking for Clarkson or Russell.
It's all moot either way since Ramona Shelbourne is reporting the Lakers aren't giving up any of the young core for PG13 |

We learned our lesson fro. Howard. We will give them the 28 pick and Clark or we will wait for him to be a FA |

Mitch and Jim learned their lesson from Howard.
Jeanie however hasn't. With the way she talks about Dwight and the "need" to chase big free agents cause "we're the Lakers" feeds into that. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Exactly. Any replacement player won't be able to provide the same level of production off the glass or in transition. _________________ Character

Nance+ Clarkson +28? If Cavs are ready to pull the trigger we need to up our offer enough to beat Cleveland because he's not leaving Lebron _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

I think people overate how much guys like playing with Lebron.....
Seriously every all star caliber player that has played with Lebron ends up struggling and having their name dragged through the mud. |

I wouldn't go that far, but he's done exceptionally well against Green at times, much better than some thought was possible.
Green has gone on record saying that Julius could end up being better than him one day. |

There is on-court value to bringing him in sooner. He starts to learn the system, his teammates and the organization an start to mold the roster. Continuity is an underrated feature of championship teams and the sooner George gets here the better. That doesn't mean you give up prime assets for him but even if you think he's coming as a free agent regardless, getting George this season is much better.
Maybe you try to include one of Deng or Moz which is going to take assets anyway. If you say coupled one of them with Jordan, 28 and another first, you're set up for free agency next year. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

It's not better to give away assets for nothing. The Lakers aren't going to win the title in George's first year anyway, so he can learn the system when he gets to LA in 2018. |

What the Lakers can receive from a Julius Randle trade
Julius Randle’s name is once again the topic of discussion in the latest Lakers rumors.
Quote: | With the 2017 NBA Draft fast approaching you would think that the Lakers rumors around the established stars would fade. Rumors and reports are swirling that the Lakers may be open to trade power forward Julius Randle. Randle’s name has been in trade discussions before, and quite frankly, seems to be the most likely to get traded. |
