Huh?!? Jim and Mitch signed Mozgov to that horrendous contract. I know people don't like this trade, but let's show a little perspective here. |
That's like saying a chick gave you an std, so you had to shoot yourself to death. |
I don't really like the trade (think we could have gotten more closer to the deadline, but maybe they didn't want to risk it). But not sure how you can have that analogy when you haven't seen: a) what we get if/when we flip Lopez, and b) what we use the capspace on. |

Ok, how about you shoot yourself in the face, and may recover despite a massive scar. The point here is they poisoned the well for their own trade, then made a really lopsided bad trade, and did it to facilitate a larger trade, and they don't even have that lined up. If they survive it is luck, not planning. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. I think it's pretty obvious Mitch and Jim were already feeling the heat from Jeanie and it forced Mitch's hand in trying to win more, sooner. All three are at fault for the front office environment and the Deng and Mozgov contracts. |

Your analogy still doesn't work for me and smacks of hyperbole. Shooting yourself in the face indicates current pain/harm -- in reality just for the present, I'm fairly certain that we are better with Brook Lopez than with DLO. Again, I'm not defending the trade as currently construed, just that you can't definitively pass judgement on it since its a bet, investment, whatever you call it for future optionality.
Luck and not planning? -- are you sure they don't have guarantees, have you been in all the back room conversations, etc. Not sure how you can definitively say this unless you actually work for the Lakers and/or are part of the Buss inner circle. |

True. Jim put that stupid deadline on his head and Jeanie made sure he kept his word. It was a desperation move sort of like the Dlo trade.
I wish Phil and Jeanie never dated because we all know they probably still chat sometimes and she tells him her feelings. Dlo was probably brought up on multiple occasions and she told Phil the truth on him. If she had hyped him up a little I bet he would do Dlo for Porzingis right now, as he was super high on Dlo before the draft. |
