With the D'Angelo Russell trade the Lakers will surely select UCLA guard Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick.

What are your expectations for this player in his rookie season?

Can he potentially be a rookie of the year candidate? Will he take time to develop like Brandon Ingram and not put up big numbers till the end of the season?

I think Ball's passing ability and leadership skills will be on full display and he'll make an immediate impact. That shot of his does need a lot of work as does his defense, but I also believe being 6'6 as a point guard will help on the defensive end and offensively should be able to post up smaller guards.

Very excited for Lonzo Ball.

If he doesn't average 20/6/6 right away our fan base will hate him.

Depends on whether we get pg13. Right now he has Ingram/Jules/Jc on the wings. Not exactly formidable.

Nah. The fan base is terribly forgiving when we draft the guy we want. His treatment will be closer to Ingram than Russell.

Hes the only reason to watch going forward.

BI has a ways to go still.

PG13, even if he comes, is nothing special.

Screw this Front Office.

There seem to be a lot of people who want Jackson and Fox though lol.

Paul George is one of the best players in the league.

Ingram maybe a long way away, but he's already shown more promise than Russell ever did and is already a much more consistent defender.

All I expect of Lonzo, now, is to be a Laker by November.

I expect him to be the first LA Laker to win Rookie of the Year. Baylor won when the team was still in Minnesota.

No he wasn't he was historically the worst rookie ever given all those minutes.
Dunking and being a nice kid does not equal more potential

And have Ennis or clarkson start, throw the Ball boy out there and allow him to do his thing

12, 7 and 4. Running and gunning every team to the ground. He will set the pace while PG set the tone. He will be an important in building the identity of this team.

I don't expect much tbh. Not because I dont like the kid but he's a kid. its gonna take awhile. If he balls out from day one and makes an immediate impact great, but I wont be surprised if he comes in and struggles too.

And Jesus Christ, that shot.

And if he's still around, I hope so, he will be the early starter
at PG....they'll probably slide Ball in slowly...
