Lakers need to find a way to dump his 12 million dollar cap hold in 2018. We might just have to wave him.

We don't have to do anything right now just continue what we are doing and wait for a phone call.

Or you can offer him the QO, then talk to FAs. If no one comes, you resign Randle. If we need space, you can rescind the QO and he's gone.

Minny kind of came out of nowhere and stole butler away for basically nothing after hearing nothing besides a possible CLE/Boston trade. Are there any darkhorse teams out there who could take their chances on a PG13 rental?

Pritchard is too emotional and prideful to trade him to us now. He'll be forced to trade him to a contender like Spurs/Cavs, and get an even worse package than what we offered them.

Randle/27/28 was their best bet. And they blew it.

Rockets definitely. Portland, Washington, probably a couple more.

For rental type offers, probably.

There is no team George can be sent to other than the Cavs, Spurs or Celtics that would make him forgoe hitting free agency next summer and coming to LA. If he's traded to any other team he'll be a Laker in 2018.

Exactly. So I'm sure those teams garbage rental offers (and Houston's) will be available at any time. I don't think Indy has passed on any "good" deal. Just "something instead of nothing" deals.

Well the sooner it gets to Summer 2018,
the offers are going to get worse and worse.

I'm not cap savvy, I guess this works too. But I think we are going to sign George+Cousins in 2018, and Randle will have to be waived. Which is why it would be awesome if Pritchard swallowed his pride and just take Randle+picks now. Ah well.

Patton could end up being better than Markennan. Dunn and Lavine have so far underwhelmed. Chicago being added to list of joke FOs.

I just hope this drags into free agency:

Rockets get max contract player
Spurs get cp3
Boston gets a injury max

All competitors weed out and let see what pritchard then accepts

Patton's form from NBA range is disgusting. All types of extra weird motions

Difference is that this isn't PG's choice. It's his GM acting like an idiot.

Thanks! Some key comments from Pelinka:

Lonzo: Called him transcedent. Wanted a player where Ball didnt stop moving. They became sold on Lonzo after spending last Friday with his family.

Kuzma: Scouting him past 2 years. Defensive player of the year in his conference. Two way player. Can guard several positions. A luke type of player.

Hart: Mental toughness. Defensive toughness. Can hit the three. Can hit big shots. Disciplined. Expect him to be a leader for the younger guys.

Bryant: Stretch 5. Rim protector. Can run the floor. In excellent shape, could run guard drills.

Was complimentary of dlo but said the deal provided the Lakers 3 things:

1. Lopez: Good offensive player. High basketball IQ. Can stretch the floor as he developed a 3 point shot.
2. Cap space for next year which is part of their plan.
3. Got them additional picks.

Grand plan: Get good players in the draft but will ultimately need 2 big stars to "look in the eye" the top teams, hence the cap space. This offseason will look to add vets but will keep in mind their cap space as they worked hard to create that.

All in all, very insightful for me.
